Sorry, if this has been posted already with regard to location...I'm thinking of cutting the cable and going with HDTV. I live in Newmarket and want to know the reception...I don't watch a lot of tv ctv,cbc city and global have everything I want. Any advice in antenna? digital box with my new tv or not? if your from Newmarket what kind of signal do you get on hdtv. Thanks.

I'm in Etobicoke and have a HDTV mast antenna attached to the outside of my house and it picks up about 12 channels: CBC, CTV, CITY, Global, OMNI, NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, TVO, etc. For me, this is good enough especially give the low price of $0. The reception you'll get will depend on if there are any obstructions in the way of your antennas like buildings, trees, houses, etc. Have a look at this web-site for the best place to install your antenna and the proper direction to point it in. It really depends on your location. I'm near the airport so I guess I'm the sweet spot. I installed 2 antennas outside: one that points to the CN Tower and the other southerly towards the states. I believe the web-site below gives instructions on the optimal angle you need to point your antenna to.
