Your place!!
So, 2 weeks ago I was at a Pool party. It started around 2pm. I was in the sun quite abit and was also one of the cooks on the old BBQ. Only had a couple of hotdogs to eat and had 5 beer over about 7hr. Anyway we left early as I was supposed to get up at 5am to go to work the next day. Was in bed by 10:30pm. By 12:30pm I was awake with constant stomach cramps, not coming and going but staying all the time, Couldn't get comfortable at all, couldn't stand, sit, or lie down, thought I was going to die. Finally after throwing up and the runs all night the SO got some extra stength Tylenol in me and eventually the pain subsided enough for me to doze off. Now the problem is I've been feeling lousy ever since. Been having night sweats and chills and last night I checked my temp and it was 102.2, took some tylenol and it went down to 97.7 before I went to bed. Got up this morning and it was back up to 101.1, took some more tylenol and it dropped down and I felt pretty good.
Question is, Am I still feeling the after effects from what happened 2 weeks ago or should I be Worried. Any Medical people out there? Don't really run to the doctor for much.

Could have been a bad case of food poisoning. Either way best to have it checked out.

Be careful Esco, sometimes when Sheik says he's going to put a foot up your ass, he's not quoting Red from the 70's show.

Unlikely to be Heatstroke 2 weeks later!
Most likely something you ate that day that caused food poisoning...whatever it was...the bug is obviously still in your gut somewhere, hence the high temps - your body's immune system is still fighting it!
Best to see a doc who can prescribe something to get rid of it!

If it's food poisoning (probably th e hot dogs) do not eat for 3 days and drink only water. This should allow your body to fight those pesky invaders.

Well, a VERY common occurance during the summer months is consuming food that has been in contact with un or undercooked hamburger. I forget what it is called but cooking hot dogs on a grill that was also used to cook burgers would transfer the nastys to the hot dog. For eg: if you pile patties up on a tray, then use that tray to pile up the dogs and burgers after they are cooked. Or use utensils to put the burgers on the grill then remove the hotdog with the same utensil.

What you have REALLY sounds like it....(wish I could remember the name...)

BTW: you'll need antibiotics so see a doc.....

Thanks for all the suggestions. Talked to another friend this morning and his daughter is going through the same thing right now, so I guess it is a stomach virus of some kind, best to keep hydrated and wait it out, feel better this morning.

LOL friggen men....why don't we go to the doc when we're sick?

Dude, you should go just to make sure......if it IS salmonella or E coli you could die from it. (btw: was this friend's daughter at the barbecue too?)

Well. the old Texas rancher had it right, when he said;

"You can advise, you can suggest, you can warn, but some dudes just have to pee on the electric fence to find out all for themselves!"

This guy's body is trying to tell him something with these 'temperature' swings!
See a doc and get some antibiotics to slay the little buggers!
Why ask for our advice if you have no intention of seeing a doc?

Heat stroke resolves itself with hydration and rest, and unless you have fatally exposed yourself you should have felt better in 48 hours MAX.

You should see a Doctor
