Hiroshima, mon amour is on TFO (French channel, cable 13, in my area), tonight at 12:30am.

For all you film buffs, die hard romantics, interracial afficionados, check it out. I can't recall the last time it's been on public TV before (if ever, or recently). Yes, it's French, a drama, very very artsy, but give it a try.

1959, French, B&W, Renais (director), Duras (screenplay).

Sorry, no sub-titles. It's on now. Don't miss the start (too late). Mostly, be patient.

Ah, hearing a woman talk, in French, about love, war, sex. Kinda kinky.

I've seen that movie before and I didn't like it. I think Alain Resnais is a fine director but I just found it very pretentious (and I love French films). Last Year in Marienbad was much better.

Agreed TwTr, Last Year in Marienbad is a great film. Definitely, more accessible.

Nevertheless, Hiroshima is still an amazing film, remember the subject (1959).

I'm only posting this, mainly because of its potential relevance (to TERB):

* unknown, mysterious contact
* beautiful mid 30's female (read MILF)
* her role is a nurse/humantarian
* asian male with caucasian female

Yeah, it's heavy (read pretentious), but still a beautiful film.

Very French.... didn't watch the whole of it.
Female hand stroking nekkid man's back, documentary footage of Hiroshima victims, and yes, the sexy vox of a French dame narating.
Too bad , with half a bottle of Amarone in my almost empty stomach, I dozed off into oblivion fast...

Is that film available on VHS or DVD ?
