OMG NO! Jose Bautista said he will compete in the home run derby if elected to the all star game. That derby ruined Alex Rios' life. It really messes up your swing. JOSE, NO!:hand:

Can't say with 100% certainty it ruins swings, perhaps some, but not all. The sluggers who participate are still hitting homeruns (Howard, Ortiz, Hamilton, etc).

I thought Howard got messed up a bit and then recovered.

Howard & Ortiz both slumped, especially Ortiz.

Besides, MLB had their chance with Bautista (he was in the top 5 HR) last year, and opted for someone else.
