Will be travelling to Hong Kong/Tokyo in the near future. Was wondering about where I could have some fun. Something close to the airport. Please advise on approximate rates and any links or info you could provide.

Thanks!

I have been to Hong Kong a couple of times.
It is okay and rather expensive.
It was an okay stopover for a couple of days, but I would not travel half way around the world to go to Hong Kong.
I would not even want to stopover there again.
There are several flights per day to Bangkok. It is a short flight and inexpensive. I would highly recommend you go there if possible.

Never been to Japan. Everything is very expensive, although if money is not an issue, it seems like Japan can be alot of fun.
For what a couple of days of fun in Japan would cost, you could probably pay for a week of pleasure in Thailand.

Malibook and ripitman, thanks for your insight. I actually won't be staying in either city, they're just stopovers and so I thought I might as well enjoy myself for the few hours I'm there.

A few more questions, how close are these places to the Hong Kong/Tokyo airports. Also, will the language pose any problem, because I only speak English.

Tokyo airport is far from the city. Tokyo is absolutely huge (much larger than Metro TO)! I remember a very long bus ride to get into the city (Shinjuku).

Fairly easy to speak no Japanese and get around Tokyo. The younger generation knows English so they can understand you but are often too shy to speak back to you. (I still laugh because my buddy used to speak really loud thinking that they will understand better if he talks loud. Then the young Racequeen in McDonald's would turn to me and start talking Japanese to me since I had ordered in broken Japanese.)

Tokyo is extremely expensive. I need to save up my Duckies to try and go there later this year.

japanese women are among the most beautiful in the world. and tokyo has the be one of the most expensive cities to stay in.

shinjuku is like the hot spot of tokyo, but it takes time to get there. the subway runs in a big circle. i took the train from narita airport (the international airport) to the tokyo junction subway station. trip time 75 minutes. shinjuku was on the exact opposite side. time to get from one side to the other 30-40 minutes. tokyo is huge... i think 10 million+ people. downtown tokyo crowds put a new meaning in the term "can of saradines"...

the amount of japanese eye candy in truly bewildering in shinjuku... just remember to bring lots of cash (no not for that...) everything in tokyo is expensive. imagine buying everything at 2-3 the cost you pay here...

as duckie says, time to save some cash...

I'd probably hook up some guy in a bar (Japanese guy) and say, "let's go and get some girls together". Think of all the frustration it would save. I lived in Asia for years, and that it one country where I don't think I'd brave it alone. BTW even a karaoke in Korea can set you back a couple of grand with some hostesses if you don't ask the $$. Be careful with $$ and check worldsexguide

Oh yeah, that's what I forgot to mention. Make sure you know entry and exit fee prices before going to any place in Japan. Also be warned about the places (especially in Shinjuku) that have the guys who try to talk you into going into the club.

If you're younger and good with the ladies, go to a regular night club in Roppongi. Much more fun and you won't spend a couple of grand in a night (OK, maybe you will but it's more rewarding to pick up a girl in a dance club, isn't it?). I still remember one club in Roppongi that had 20 of the most gorgeous Racequeens lined up outside it to entice people to go in. I was disappointed since I thought they were hookers at first!
