Now this makes sense. In my city it was all quiet. Walmart and other stores closed 6pm. Never heard or seen that before. Some corner stores open. Saw many restaurants and fast food closed at 6pm.
What gives haven't seen this before.

Are we going back to the 1970's when malls were closed on Sunday and at 6pm on Mon, Tues, and Wednesday?

Covid was a trial run for a return to earlier closing hours. Now that the recession is upon us, stores and restaurants are quickly resorting to earlier closings. In Hamilton, for example, I am seeing more Walmarts closing at 10pm instead of 11pm. Forces me to be more organized for grocery runs.

ALSO YOU CAN TELL THAT MANY OF THOSE WERE INDIAN IMMIGRANTS AND OTHER NEWCOMERS TO CANADA, SO THEY PROBABLY GOT TOO EXCITED AND THOUGHT NEW YEARS EVE WAS GONNA BE SOMETHING SPECIAL DOWNTOWN.'

AS FOR THE E-BIKES, ITS NO SHOCK AS THOSE GOOFY UBER BIKE GUYS ARE EVERYWHERE AND GET IN EVERYBODYS WAY.
Here we go again. Always blaming the poor neophyte immigrants. Is Archie Bunker your favorite character?

Remember, we are all immigrants here. Just because you got here earlier doesn’t make it ok to shit on the ones that arrived later - even if they act stupidly, relatively speaking.

It was Sam (The Record Man) Sniderman and Paul Magder of Magder Furs that bucked the holiday and Sunday shopping laws and won. They were the pioneers.

Well said.

My family moved to Toronto in the mid 60's. We got an invitation to attend the first CHIN Picnic, we thought it was the event of they year. I don't remember much about the picnic except for how terribly the hippies reeked! They showed up for the free food. On the ferry ride back to the mainland, I nearly passed out from the stench.

Your eyesight is amazing that you can look at a random screenshot of the back of people's heads and can tell that many of them are Indians or other newcomers. Yet you didn't see that you left your CAPS LOCK on on your keyboard.

It's a social media go-to for bigots and the movements they serve. See any picture online of any gathering in Toronto, Niagara, etc, and there will be an instant comment about how the country now looks like Mumbai/Bangalore/India, no matter who is in the picture.

Expect better from our political parties.

I watched the video pausing and zooming in several times. Most of the faces you can see in the crowd do seem to be descendants of one of the five regions of Asia.

You'd think some halfway smart Metrolinx/TTC/Union Station employee could devise a system to manage/alleviate a re-occuring crowding issue. But, I guess that would take initiative...
