How do we increase our iq level?

First I would like to add there is a huge difference between IQ and knowledge. Just because someone has gone through school and read allot of books does not make them smart. Someone who never learned how to read or write or do math can have an IQ of 160 and someone with a university degree could only have an IQ of 115.

I have meet so many people with high IQ's and yet due to life circumstances they never went to school. Although on the surface it appears as if I'm more intelligent because I have a degree deep down inside I know their minds are much more agile and quicker than mine.

So how can I increase my IQ level? (the ability to learn new information, to fully understand it and to do it quickly)

Most so called IQ improvement courses are nothing more than memory boasters or learning a new subject.

FYI -- The meaningless prize in question is the Nobel Prize, not Noble.

Anyway, I don't think there's much we can do for you if you already have a degree.

Apparently, the piece of paper is what makes people think you have a brain -- at least, that's what the Wizard of Oz said.

Hang around with smarter people. It sound weird but it true. Think of of the opposite which is more than true.

So far, there is no known method of making permanent increases in IQ. That is one of the frustrating things about it, it is so critical for determining success, propensity to commit crimes, etc. And yet there is no way to increase it.

Iq

You are what you are born with forever. By dint of work, you may hold more knowledge but it is not IQ. Forget it; just learn what you want; enjoy it.

Hand around with people that are smarter then yourself?
I see the logic in that, by doing that it forces you to use your own brain more.

IQ is your capacity for knowledge, a measure of what your capabilities are. It may make it easier for you to learn, and there is probably a correlation between IQ and academic success, but it is most definitely not a measurement of how much you know.

You can hang around smarter people, that just means that you know more "stuff". Your IQ determines whether (or how easily) you can learn it or grasp new concepts.

I mildly retarded individual with an IQ of 85 can still learn and get the same college degree as someone with an IQ of 140 - its just that his ability to absorb information is below average, so he's never going to know as much "stuff" because he simply cannot process it as quickly or retain as much of it.

Under the heading of "use it or lose it", keep thinking. Exercise your brain! Studies have shown brain exercise helps keep it working, and keeps you younger longer as you age. Don't do it and it will atrophee.

No IQ is not about how much one can retain,it is certainly not a memory exercise test....People with High IQ tend to have a deeper connection between the left and right brain....they have very good logic but also tend to be artistic...theor left and right brain constantly share info btw the 2.

Those connection are normally formed in the 1st 2 years of a child....this is why during the 1st 2 yrs of any child you should expose them to as much as you can as their brains are constantly creating connections during that age.

A games website to check out. They keep a cumulative score of your performance, charting you progress in relation to other luminosity members. There are also a few articles worth reading on this topic.

I've been a member for about a month and I do find my brain feeling more alert, especially after a session. I can't say for sure if I'm becoming smarter, but I do FEEL smarter.
