Best case scenario? Worst case scenario? In Canada? In the US?

What changes in social status or legal status do you see?

I think the logical and natural progression of the industry will stray towards there being more and more independents. With the introduction of the internet, this medium has changed the industry by leaps and bounds already. By 2016, I believe there to be an entirely different marketing scheme then what it is today. Instead of agencies running with a roster of girls, it will become a flood of independent providers all marketing themselves. People will only get smarter, and more internet savy, and in result more likely to promote or advertise on their own. There will perhaps be a rise in booking agents, and call centers, but the majority of the providers should be independent.

This of course, all depends on if the laws and regulations don't change. Geographically speaking, the hobbying will definately be better in Canada rather then the US, only because the laws are more liberal here, and it doesn't look like the Canadian dollar will depreciate anytime soon either. In fact, the Canadian dollar should match the US dollar 1:1 by 2010. A decade is a long time, for any industry to grow and change. There are so many factors that play into this question. More and more people will be providing specific services, and catered to certain niche markets. It will just get more and more specialiazed. Let's not forget that this profession is one of the oldest in the book, so society and culture play a vital role in the direction of this hobby. Soit really is a loaded question...

The real question is what will TERB be like in 2016? :cool:

area code four one sex
in the early 90's there was talk of creating a red light district in Toronto
that was more than 10 years ago, I don't think things will change much in another 10

it takes 25 years for them to figure out what to do with the waterfront

Drive thru sexual services will be offered by the government, it will cost $9.99 for a quick automated release. If you wish to donate blood at the same time, you'll get a special $6.99 rate.
Will you compete with that, VFF?

By 2016, the North American Union (NAU) has banned all forms of sex. All citizens of the NAU are required to have chips surgically implanted so that physical location and bodily parameters can be monitored.

If your hormonal levels exceed tolerance, members of the Protection of Innocence and Goodness in Society (PIGS) squad will be dispatched to your location. They will "accompany" you to a local treatment facility where you will be administered drugs and electro-shock therapy until your hormonal levels return to acceptable minimums. The same procedure will be used to protect against other risky behavior such as smoking, eating junk food, running with scissors, etc.

As for children, it was decided that sex is the greater evil, so bans on cloning and test tube babies were lifted. The technology was perfected such that natural DNA replenishment would not be required. Hence, citizens of the NAU enjoy a life free from sex, the greatest evil mankind has ever known.

I agree with Phnine, I think the internet will change the hobby toward the Independent and away from the agencies. My hope is that in ten years STD's will be eliminated so we can all go bareback once again.

I think it will end up where there willl be more independants and there will be companies springing up specializing in driving escorts to their clients and ensuring their safety.

I think the trend is towards acceptance by society... ...but it will be a slow process. There is nothing "in it" for politicians to raise the issue.

Think about how lap dancing used to be taboo, then was a fad, now is kind of past.
Think about how massage parlours now advertise openly with street signs.
Internet porn is basically free now. How'd that happen?
Escorts are just the next step.

The internet is the great equalizer, and it lets independents do better if they want to. This is much like artists and record labels. I think this is a good thing - other than for security - who needs a middle man?

The thing that would stop this is if there is some horrible VD outbreak or if some terrible crime occured involving the profession. Anything that created a lot of bad press would set progress back and would cause a clampdown.

It seems like a good organized booking service is needed. The hassle of making appointments, weeding out bad clients, etc. is a pain for everyone - SPs and customers alike. I'm sure we all hate the "cell phone" game (e.g. go to this location and phone SP for further directions). What we need is an easy way to make appointments, keep the girls safe from creeps, and provide a varying level of annonymity.

If the folks running TERB are listening - this spells BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY. While you are setting this up this booking service, get my dentist to use it too!

In all seriousness - I would welcome a red light district!

I would welcome a red light district! LOL

1. No more B&S pictures!
2. The end of exaggerated reviews and descriptions!
3. What you see is what you get!
4. “What type of service do you offer?” – “Oh that’s it, okay…maybe some other time!”

:D

That is a nice dream, but there's too much money to be made treating the disease than curing it.

Always in the Groove... (and hoping to be there in 2016 and beyond)

By 2016, expect hallographic images so lifelike that you'll have a "hard" time telling them from the real thing. One of these up and "coming" companies will see the money that can be made by offering beautiful exotic "manmade" ladies that will partake in all forms of sexual activity.

Okay, okay, I've been watching too many episodes of The Outer Limits and in 2016, I'll be the same age as Strongbeau.......38.

By 2016, we will be 10 years closer to Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World".

There is a caste or class system in place with Alphas being the "higher" class then Betas, Gammas, Deltas and Epsilons as the lower class of worker. In the brave new world, every male has sex with every female of the same class (caste). There is no pregnancy, because all new babies are created via test tube, and no diseases. The biggest change in society is that everyone is happy all the time. If you want to be happier still , you take a pill !!!

I'm applying for my Alpha membership right now in case this world arrives while I'm still here.

Cheers

The U.S. will still continue to socially contradict itself 10 years from now and beyond...

There will be legal gambling casinos in all 50 states... but no legal escorts
There will be more concealed weapons laws...but no legal escorts
There will be more laws allowing gays to marry...but no legal escorts
There will be a further penetration and tolerance of gangsta culture, filthy rap music, gang warfare and all the other crap...but no legal escorts

Gambling=Good
Guns=Good
Gays=Good
Gangstas=Good
Man who just wants to discreetly have a good time and satsify his basic and core sexual needs=BAAAAAAD!:mad:
