Ottawa base.
My age range say 86 years old for a woman in Canada and 82 for a man.
and also its really just asking 3 questions. it doesnt ask anything about health, family history which may have an impact on it

Nor my heroin habit, excessive drinking, 10 pack a day smoking or being 5'2" and weighing 350 lbs. I was given 87 years old when my heart gives out in arms of an MPA. Now if that is based on an average and I did live a healthy life style - can assume I'll die at ~ 105 ?

I heard in the news recently loneliness is more unhealthy than smoking 15 cigarettes a day. In which case I should be dead by 35. Ah well... don’t need a long life anyway.

Did anybody try entering different ages? Eg: A 20 year old man will only live until 80, whereas a 30 year old man will until 81. So why would a 20 year old only live for 60 more years whereas a person already 30 would live for an additional 51? Are they predicting a decline in health care or lifestyle? Does the model predict that younger people will face additional risks (stress, etc)? It must be such a complex model with it's two inputs.

Oh, and if you are a 115 year old Canadian today - it predicts that you will live another 3 years. But if you are 115 years old living in Botswana, you will only live until 117. Sounds like a good reason to immigrate! Oh oh! now smallcock and friends will be worried about an influx of 115 year old Botswanians!

Amen!! Totally agree with you. Live everyday like its your last.
Life is WAY too short. So many people take life for granted.
Never know when our time is up.
then I could be wasting my time at work.

Both gave me 83, I think it was the high stress that did me in.

I think if you can get out of your 20s you have a good shot at a long run.

Both calculators gave me an age of 85. I guess I better get cracking on that mid life crisis I've been putting off.

I messed with some ages too. The algorithm is off. The higher the starting age I set, the higher age I live too.

The most surprisingly thing is that it says something like "since 1990, life expectancy has increased 5 years". Who knows how accurate that claim is, but if it is "kind of true", that says a lot about human life, health, medical services etc.... It's leveling off lately, but human life has been on the upswing.

Hats off to better living conditions, science, and med staff.

I Googled it, and in 1900 men in Canada had an avg life of 47 years, and women 50. Since then, it's increased about 30-35 years.
