So, I've been getting these phone calls lately from multiple providers. Here's a sample of the conversation.....

[home phone rings]
Hornet: "Hello."
Caller: "Hello, sir. This is Tellyou Mobility (name altered)"
Hornet: "Yes?"
Caller: "Sir, we have a special promotion and are willing to offer you 2 new cellphones for switching to Tellyou Mobility. Do you have any cellphones?"
Hornet: "Yes, I have 2: 1 for work and 1 personal"
Caller: "Are these phones with Tellyou Mobility?"
Hornet: "No."
Caller: "Would you like 2 new cellphones with Tellyou Mobility?"
Hornet: "No, I have 2 cellphones already."
Caller: "But, we're offering a special deal and you could have 2 more"
Hornet: "But, I only have two hands and two ears, and I'm afraid of surgery to add two more of each."
Caller: "Ooohhh...yes, goodbye."
Hornet: "Goodbye" [click]

.....So, in all seriousness, the question is: "How Many Cellphones does 1 person really need?"

Well, that applies to single business people but for those with families, 3 or more phones can be a real need (or desire).

Just because you personally don't need more than 2, doesn't make it unreasonable for some people to have a need for more.....

ONE is all I need, just to keep track of that one is enough stress on me already, going to a club trying to make sure I have 2 would be crazy.

Now if a company was really smart they'd develope a cellphone that can be equipped to answer 2 or 3 phone numbers as well. I mean, cellphones have more computing power than the apollo spacecraft so it shouldn't be too difficult to do.

I know when I worked a regular type job I had 2 cellphones, my leatherman, my tape measure, utility knife, all hanging off my belt. When I took it off at night I felt 20 lbs lighter I tell ya.

I have 5... But only one is 'hooked up' <LMAO>
I think quite a number of folks are in the same boat, from years of upgrading.

For myself I use 3. The heavy duty one I use in YYZ, while traveling to countries with less than ideal security I usually bring one of the casual ones along.

Analog wise, it existed almost 20 years ago with the analog cell phones. Remember those motorola bricks ? :p

Dual nam, they call that feature.

Travelling in Italy back in the early 90's I was absolutely shocked at the amount of cell phones in use. Personally I'm not a fan of them. They end up controlling you instead of you controlling them.
