I have a bunch of songs downloaded as WMA format but want to convert them to MP3 format so that I can play them in my car.

I've been told that I can burn over 100 songs in MP3 format to a CD.

Anybody know how to do this conversion to MP3?

windows media player

get the new one, it will convert for you easily. and yes, a mp3 is around 5 mb so a 700 mb CD can hold 140 or so. if you have a player that can read dvd's, there's almost 5gb worth.

good luck

Here is the info

In google just search for a WMA to WAV converter, once your music files are back in WAV you can then convert it to MP3 using any MP3 converter. Remeber that there is no point of setting the bitrate too high I'd say make your mp3's at 128Kbps compression. Anyways if you find a WMA to WAV converter and you need a WAV to MP3 converter then email me, I have a great program that does it and is easy to install. PM

Try not to use freebee progs, theyre free for a reason. I convert tons of songs, with no troubles. Its called "Cool Edit Pro ". You can get it most places and you can convert wmv to Mp3 and vice versa as well as a slew of other editing features! I paid 50$ a while ago at Future Shop, worth every penny!

You might also consider Ogg Vorbis format, which is smaller still, but finding players can be difficult.

Jetaudio works on PCs for transfer to and from Ogg Vorbis, and Mortplayer is a good player for pocket PCs that supports the format.
