Hey all. Just inquiring to all of you on how you fund your hobbying. I am looking for ideas. I have a S.O. that i would never be able to get away with a simple withdrawal from the bank

I used to be self employed and I had access to cash on a regular basis. Now, not so much as I have a regular job again.

I have sold stuff on marketplace and been able to get cash that way, but I only have so much to sell. Lol

Are there others in the same boat? Let me know your ideas. I have tried selling my body....but I can't stand the humiliation anymore.

I am looking for serious ideas though.

Let me know. I need to see Ashlee again 😫

There are good ideas here (including the p.m. i got)...keep them coming. I have used many of the ideas like the cashback. She is in charge of our finances so not easy getting stuff by her.
One of the reasons why it is so difficult is about 10 years ago she found out about some extracurricular activity in was having....so finance stuff, which she always did anyway, is watched like a hawk. Lol

Can you get your work to split your paycheque into 2 accounts? Unless your S.O. sees your pay stubs, you could time the change with a raise or paying off your EI/CPP contributions so it's not noticable.

Or get a second job. :)

Time to see what you can offer a girl from your natural resources. If I had a client that could give a 2 thumbs up actual amazing non sexual massage for 90 mins where I could fall asleep after unlike a spa where I have to get dressed and leave I would probably trade a 30 min session for that. Same price as what I would pay. The issue is unless you actually have an RMT cert, hard to tell who would be qualified. I used to barter quite a bit actually. Just don't need any manly stuff done anymore as I am not single. I had a whole 2,500 sqft of floors laid for what amounted to two 15 min work periods for me. Bartering for the win.

$20 a day for lunch paid in cash (that you don't actually eat but tell the SO) gets you 100 per working week, 400 per month. Just make sure its a place where you know the menu so you can say you had a specific item.

Down Bad: The Thread. Kinda makes me happy I live too far from Bowmanville to hear Ashlee's siren songs if they make a man act this way lmao.

Make a "decision" that you are going to use cash more often because you no longer feel like using your card so much any more. You should be able to bury your fun time expenses within your day-to-day expenses.

Also, having and spending actual cash from your wallet might have the side benefit of reducing your overall spending because pulling cash money out of your wallet hurts more than tapping some card.

I agree with ashlee. Ive traded services with handymen and electricians. I personally have some work that needs done at my incall that I would trade a few hours for. I have in the past been willing to trade for things like electronics but they weren't serious and I mostly just get people trying to sell me their fake gold lol. There might be something you have to offer that someone would be willing to spend their cash on anyway so it just makes sense to trade or barter services.

I got a really good deal on some games for my kids and while ago and a few were collectors items. At one point I saw one of the games listed on Ebay for $3-5,000. Not that anyone would buy it but it was the original Fortnite disk with codes for skins. Ours was eventually damaged because... kids. I definitely got the better end of that deal. I got like $500 worth of games for an hour of work and eventually the value of one game became insane. We used the code, but it was still selling for a few grand. This was during covid though, the price has gone down significantly, but still for a disk and a case its crazy what theyre asking for today considering you can download the game for free 😂

Not everyone is willing to trade, but to me its as good as cash.

I've also had a few mechanics fix my car, some electricians put up light fixtures and fix wiring and switches and people to mud and paint and do odd jobs around my house. I even had a dump run guy that would haul my stuff away for a massage and a lap dance lol

I like the handyman routine. I always work for cash. I've been to a couple of MPA's homes and done work for them painting, installing vanities, etc. F**k for favours. Works for both of us.

Now I'm genuinely interested in how that transaction would go down. Obviously they were clients first and then you found out they were tradespeople? Too many cliched movie ideas going through my mind that start with "Oh my, I can't afford all that!" and "Well, you know, maybe we can find a way to work it out" and then a soft bassline comes rolling in.

I take out money 2 weeks before I hobby... in case i get asked... money is right there sitting on my wallet. if not...it's enough time that it's no longer going to be traced... I get busy for almost 3 weeks that I don't get to "play" and I have a surplus to play around even more...that doesn't mean I splurge it...I have other expensive hobbies to finance... Fishing and bike...when you have those 2...it's even easier to funnel money to this hobby.
