Howard makes a point in that he would like to be able to go to court to defend his right of free speech. He of course believes he would win any case. Lets face it he is not for everyone and even an old sailor like me gets really grossed out sometimes with his content however i can and do turn the dial and let him as I believe his right to say what he wants. He racks up huge ratings and is rumoured to pull in close to 20 million a year. If he is making that kind of income then the profits he generates for his stations is simply phenomenal. He will be around for a long time to come.

That is why he is and will be the "King of all Media"

I think he struggled with his most recent contract renewal about three years ago. /He is looking for new opportunities, he may or may not be around much longer of his on choosing. time will tell.

Re: If you don't like Stern . . .

. . . turn him off!!! Haven't heard him much since he left the Toronto market but there are times he's been brilliant and times he's been more of little naughty schoolboy.

He certainly makes you think (just look at THIS debate) and, despite some of the juvenile stuff, has respect for women. You've really got take him in small doses.

Bottom line is I find some fundamential religious right-wing broadcasters more offensive than him.

Perhaps they should be forced off the air!!

Just MHO.

The bottom line is that the person/company that pays to license the airwaves has a right to decided who it wants on its airwaves.
Secondly, the FCC has the lawful right to regulate "decency" and can impose fines.
Lobby Congress to make changes if you don't like what's happening to Stern.

To think that broadcasting a couple having anal sex in St. Patrick's cathedral didn't violate FCC deceny clauses was absurd. They played with fire and lost.
I heard the segment. The cops weren't quite sure what to do. The couple and the radio guy with them probably would have walked away unscathed had the radio guy on the scene not started yelling and insulting the cops.
But there was no way the FCC wasn't going to get involved in leveling fines for this one.

Anyone watch Howard’s TV show on the E! Channel by Satellite?

I watch it just about every night at 11:00pm and have been for years now. He's always got some porno chicks on there pissing in diapers or bobbing for hotdogs in a toilet bowl. It's great entertainment if you ask me... no really it is!

He has a great site up at: http://howardstern.com
