They go to Iraq with visions of placing their bodies between U.S. bombs and suckling Iraqi infants, then leave in disgust and surprise when the Iraqi government tries to station them at water purification centres and electrical generating stations. Morons, what did they expect?
The Iraqis quite reasonably, (and perhaps stupidly for their propaganda purposes), pointed out that the Americans were not likely to purposely bomb a kindergarten class or a maternity ward, so they did not see a need for human shields in those locations.
It just goes to show how carefully some of the people preaching peace have thought out their positions. I mean, did they ever stop to think that even if they did stay and place themselves in front of the bombs that it would not make a whit of difference to the attack? The bomb isn't going to ask for passports.
