Is this a proof that dictatorship works better than democracy. India and China is essentially the same story but China hosted the Olympics and World Fair with flying color and you don't hear car bombs every week.If you've ever been to India and the sub-continent in general and had to do business there, this won't come as a surprise. It's utter chaos trying to get something done in that environment. Total. Chaos.
Good point. I know that Singapore, which is basically a benevolent dictatorship, is a model city state. No freedom of the press and laws against menial things like spitting on the sidewalk, chewing gum, and death penalty for drug offences. Still, for them it seems to work. If you've been you'll know what I mean. If you haven't been, you should go.Is this a proof that dictatorship works better than democracy. If the games actually get cancelled because of corruption in construction, wow:

I absolutely 100% agree. I was simply referring to adickson's comment that,Again,I was recently in Singapore and there is no comparison with Delhi or India for that matter.Singapore would have pulled it off.

Hehe - like our health care system? There is so much red tape to deal with in India that this is no surprise. In India, anything run my the government = failure. Anything run by private corporation = success
Wow - how could "new" construction possibly look like that? It's even worse than earlier reported. Despite the Indian assertion that these things are minor glitches, there are some serious and major problems. No way that these facilities are going to be ready for the opening of the Games. No chance.
Have a look through the BBC slide show. Un-farking-believable.
