I have bad credit, but I have lots of cash, and I want to rent/lease a BMW for a year. Anyone know a dealer who specializes in this, without me having to deal with the mob given my credit issues LOL

I know BMW has a one lease payment program, but I'd never qualify credit wise even though I have the bread. Any third party guys that could help me?

Must be some car guys on the board.

Thanks for your help! Help Mao get laid in a 5 series M Class! :D

You can take over the lease on a one or 2 year old car, no money down and no security deposit.

...have to qualify for the lease, with the same conditions / requirements as were set out when it was orginally signed, unless the previous owner is willing to be your gurantor, which only a TOTAL idiot would do.

Won't matter....

...becasue beyond being concerned about getting their money, they are concerned about getting their asset back. They consider him a risk, as would I (how is it that someone has tons of cash but lousy credit....hmmmm), hence no deal.

BTW...this is why (at least in the states) it requires better credit to lease than to purchase....

...you can rent. I am sure you could work something out for the length of term you need.

Also, I am sure Ashlyn will point you in the right direction - there are no doubt "C" list finance companies that will help you if you are willing to pay stupid off the chart interest rates. Place like that charge so much interest that they don't care if 10 to 20 percent of their customers default....

Where there is a will (and a market) there is a way....

Lots of dealers will do this...we did it at Richmond Hill Pontiac..they can lease any make / model. They install a lockout device that requires a monthly code which you ony get from them when your cheque clears. If you r cheque bounces then you do not get the code = you cannot start your car.

...that is scary.

Man...the things you have to go through when you live beyond your means....

What interest rate did they charge on the loan BTW?

Hey MLAM, STFU, okay. I didn't ask for your judgment, and you don't know my situation or how I got into it. I'm asking for people's help, not derision. I'm willing to pay higher interest rates, so it's all about the marketplace, not about morality, so save it.

...I wasn't judging. I was saying that anyone would consider you a risk given the situation as you describe it...and that "anyone" would include me. I offered help.

Trust me, if I wanted to slag, you would have gotten much worse. The bottom line is ANYONE is going to consider you a risk, regardless of the circumstances that lead you to where you are. They will not care. I was paraphrasing EXACTLY the question that will be asked....how could you afford an expensive car but not afford to pay your bills. You have a reason....but it will not matter to an actuary when he / she creates their risk assessment analysis.

That is just keeping it real. Not a "judgment". Honest.

You're still posting that I'm a risk. No shit! And contrary to what you say, people don't give a shit how I got into the situation I'm in, just how much I'm willing to put down and what interest rate I'll sign on. Already in the last hour a major dealership has told me if I put $5k down as security, anything's possible at their preferred rates. Unfortunately, it's not BMW.

I don't want comments about my situation, I ONLY want people who will point me to lenders and/or situations that take on people like me. I'm sure there are LOTS of people on Terb in the same situation as me.

If you can pick up a copy of the Durham News..or perhaps someone here has a copy...there are ads for dealers advertising "no credit /bad credit / no problem".

I have no critique of how you got into a credit situation...shit happens. I have less respect for people who drive big gas guzzling SUV's Hummers etc thereby supporting the oil rich terrorists with every fill up.

Would think if you have the cash you could go anywhere and lease the car. Why would you want to pay high intrest rates and fees when you could just pay cash in advance, like putting down $5000. $5000 would be a very good deposit on a lease if the car is a year or two old. On a new car it might just be a start. It would depend on the model of BMW though. Try the BMW dealership.

That lock out code thing sounds like a pretty fair deal to me.
It's a small price to pay to re-establish your credit with a car lease, as long as the interest rate isn't too high.
BTW, there are many people who make a lot of cash that goes unreported. I know MPAs and SPs who make a ton of money and can't qualify for a loan.
