Wow! What a spectacular collected trot! Not to jinx things but it looks to me like one of this year's Olympic Gold medalists in Dressage.

ah. beautiful....

has anyone here ever actually rode dressage?
i used to ride, mostly hunter/jumper.
i cant help but feel like the training is a little brutal...as in, really hard on the horse. any thoughts?

Yes. I used to ride, too... mostly cross country... but I stopped after a Hanoverian threw me and I fractured a vertebra.

I did try dressage, once... and I did find it brutal... for me! As for the horse, it depends on how intelligent and athletic the horse is... but it is not easy and it does take a lot of patience.

The performance on this video is fantastic... particularly because the horse (except for one or two instances) seems to be so relaxed and enjoying it.

Ah! The world seems so beautiful from the back of a horse!

not a fan of dressage- it makes the horse do some unnatural things for no good reason.
