Someone told me his cable service has not been cut off, even though he cancelled it and paid the last Rogers bill more than a year ago. He has ExpressVu (he claims it's through his phone line without a satellite dish, something I've never heard of), which has Boston U.S. network affiliates instead of the Buffalo ones, and occasionally he will temporarily reconnect the cable to watch something on a Buffalo channel.
Rogers cable had been left working when I moved into my present location, but it only took them about 5 weeks before I received a notice that it would be cut off the next day if I did not call them to arrange payment for it. Is it possible for them to determine from the outside if nothing is connected to the cable jacks inside a house or apartment, and if so do they intentionally leave the service operating if they think no one is using it?
