Imminent Crash?

People always think there's going to be some sort of 1987-like one-day crash or black-swan event like COVID or the GFC--the probability is not on your side (2%)! Plus, it's an election year--going against the odds even more.

High rates, sticky inflation, recession, yadda yadda yadda, talk have absolutely rekted the bears last year and this year. Corrections like today are normal and hopefully you were able to capitalize on some discounts (but really just higher lows for those who have been sidelined). Sure, the correction should continue, but one shouldn't bank on the market of repeating last year's late summer/early fall correction.

Investors are trying to assess whether all the huge AI capital spending that companies such as Microsoft and Amazon are doing is going to lead to meaningful profitability increases other than making Nvidia rich.

I’m going off grid this week.
Not going to watch.
It could be pretty ugly.
The week after might be a good op for some bottom feeding.

I will wait till tomorrow how things shape up. I am up YTD 24% but I am a bit uneasy on tech and banks. Will sell ETF of them if this continues. IMO tech is overvalued and AI is more hyped.

I honestly do believe it’s due to Kamala now having a good shot at victory. Markets are forward looking and started to trend up every time Trump had good news.

It’s pricing in something big for economic and military de-stability. When America is weak, you see the world start to fall apart.

It’s either that or Japan’s spooked by an upcoming Godzilla attack.
I would certainly not use you as a trader ;)

Buffet sold half his stock of Apple last week. Cashing in 50 billion. BA has now 180 billion in cash. He’s getting ready to buy once everything’s go down good.

What is the settlement date and all that nonsense these days?
If I sell some ZST, when can I redeploy in other ETFs and stocks?
Market will probably be back up by then.

Buffet is a long term investor, not a trader either. I will certainly buy the dip too. Nobody knows what this correction will look like so until it stabilizes, don’t catch a falling knife as the traders say.

I just don’t like Kamala so maybe I’m a little biased.
I always cringe when anyone associates the market, gas price, inflation, food prices, etc… to a specific party. Especially when all such factors are worldwide. Its putting too much importance on a potus and that’s just wrong.

A broker that tries to convince you to invest via his firm citing any of those factors instead of their proven track record is to be avoided.

Yes, they are just guessing. Also, it is funny when you have people quoting Buffett all the time and then recommend the type of stocks that he would never buy.

Yes long term investors yet never Buffet had so much in cash. He has never been known for that. He’s clearly seeing something going on.

lol what are you smoking. This is terb chat with an investing section on the side, and I’m not a broker. Take whatever someone says here with a grain of salt.

Also, with Trumps favorable tax cuts on corporations, if you don’t think this has an impact then you aren’t paying attention to the fundamentals.
We all saw what was the idea of tax cut by Trump last time. A trillion given to the rich. A big factor to current down i think. So you may be right the potus can have a big impact ;)

I don’t know man, last time Trump cut the taxes, my team went to Peter Lugers steakhouse to celebrate all the extra money and great bonuses. As long as my wallet expands, don’t give a shit lol.
Me me me. Glad you enjoy yourself.

Why don’t you give the tent people all of your savings to help them?
Bottom line, aside from lefty virtue signalling, people don’t care about things until it directly affects them negatively.
