Increase Cost

General question, with the rise cost of consumables and everything else how has this affected your SP budget.

I was totally my expenses for 2021 and wow ! Shit cost alot of money. My grocery bill for the year was 35% higher is 2021 than 2020.
Car Insurance (accident free for years) went up, utilities up and general expenses.

My hobby expenses were done from previous year. Basically I can count on 1 hand how many times I indulged.

2022 is not starting off even better. It was a dry January and looking like an even drier February in terms of hobbying .

SP rates have been increasing as well. Funny thing is I could fly to Florida and it would be cheaper than seeing a SP ‍. Excluding accommodations that is.

Gotta start rethinking freedom 55 and more like no freedom in terms of a retirement fund.

SP rates have been increasing as well.

Take a clue from the SP's. Just raise your rate if you are an independent contractor. Or, ask your boss to increase your salary if you are an employee. Simple.

Today I put a quarter tank of gas in my small truck and filled a 10 Liter gas can and it cost me $50!
Gas price is the biggest factor in me not seeing SP's right now.
Driving to Toronto from Niagara is no longer cheap.

My salary had increased 33% since last year and if I was still hobbying I would have a lot more monthly disposable income that I could use even with the increase with other things. Luckily I work from home so I don’t have to worry so much about gas or parking costs. Plus eating at home saves me a lot of money. My auto and home insurance is the same. The only large hit I get each month is for hydro, gas and cable/internet but the company covers some of that cost.

Sone guys see SP’s here for $180 hh to $300/hour. I don’t think it is cheaper if you factor in all costs. But most importantly what about the time involved getting to Florida.
