Does anyone know who carries thier clothing line? They used to have a store beside their restaurant on Peter or John Street but I heard they closed.
Any help would be great.

Harley Davidson contracts out all their components to outside manufacturers and has very little on it if any at all that is made in the USA. Final assembly is in the states.
Indian on the other hand, the majority of the components were made in the USA and had contracted the motors to S&S. Indian had just introduced their own motor prior to closing up shop.
Harley is contracting out their own designs. When Indian started up again do you think they had a big R&D and engineering dept. to come up with the designs?Sheik said:And your point is?

Your friend might be miss informed, the indian clothing line is held by a certain person till 2025 same guy that use to own the cafe on king think he sold it now.. My ex boss was trying to buy indian motorcycle back in 1996 and wanted to rebuild the company and the clothing line but he could'nt get the rights to the clothing line because indian did not own them anymore, in the end he lost his bid to indian motorcycle to believe it or not HONDA....when this was all going on met the guy with the clothes hes from up north Sudbury and he was'nt thinking of selling it unless it was a good offer i don't know if he sold it ,but even if he did someone would buy the rights till 2025 or he would still have them. I could be wrong but i dont think he would just give up his rights to clothing line. It does not cost anything to keep. Try and make something with indian logo on it and see if any lawyers come knocking.eyeofthedragon said:Scoop it up Baci - I have a friend in the clothing business who told me that at the moment there is no licence for the Indian clothing line (and has not been for a little while)
hey things could have changed since my boss was looking at the line ,So i could could be wrong and you right like you said Who Knows. it won't change our lives anyways.eyeofthedragon said:Who knows greenii - my friend is a small retailer (which I bought an Indian jacket off several years ago) perhaps I misunderstood or they do not have access.
I'm pretty sure they went out of business. The restaurant\bar had been dead for months and trying to move all their clothing at 25%-50% off. Then I walked by a few weeks ago and noticed a court order on the front doors stating that Mirvish Enterprises (the owner of the property) had taken possession of the store and all it's contents due to non-payment of something like $150,000. The place is now completely empty. The Mirvish's must own a good few blocks of King West.MarkII said:Just last week I noticed the Indian Cycle/Restaurant on King has changed to the "Original Motorcyle" name.
The guy that owned the restauarant and the INDIAN name lived in the last appt bldg I was in. Quite the interesting story about how the bikes started and how he ended up with the rights to it.
A while back he told me he was looking to sell the restaurant..maybe thats what has happened.
Well...I have six leather jackets at the moment....Yeah, I could use another.eyeofthedragon said:he gave it to me ... I do have an used indian jacket if you want it baci
