Battery hacks
I've replaced cells in cordless drill batteries for years,I refuse to pay 50% of the cost of a new drill kit for 1 battery, and I hate to buy a new drill when there's nothing wrong with mine, other than dead battery cells. they pretty much are all the same size, just different outside cases and the placement inside is different, but the overall physical size of the cells etc is pretty well standard, they are all 1.2 volts.Very often its only 1 or maybe 2 bad cells inside that are the culprits.
you just have to cut the cells apart , re solder them back into the proper location and put them back into your case
I just bought 2 brandnew 13.2 volt batteries (craftsmam) at Value village for $4,someone hacked 1 of the cases likely trying to fit it into another drill, the other is untouched & no scuffs or anything on either of them, I'm going to replace some porter cable battery guts, and Im good to go , save me $300 for a new drill
