Food too expensive? I see old people feeding pigeons in parks and elsewhere. These old folks probably don't have a life so they feed pigeons. Sad.

Why is it sad? What's the matter with going for a walk in the park for a little exorcize and fresh air and feeding a few birds maybe that's what makes them happy

Actually, one shouldn't feed wild animals (or lefties). Just kidding about lefties. I think it is the lefties who feed wild animals.

Check your car if you ever park near pigeons. They most likely left their "calling card".

One of my friends back in university found a job cruising the highways looking for damsels in distress. Then one day he found out the job also included picking up road kill.

"Don’t feed wildlife: It can do more harm than good
July 26, 2021
Feeding wildlife may seem like an enjoyable way to connect with nature, but it can often lead to serious problems for species like squirrels, raccoons, deer and bears.
Wild animals who get used to a hand-out will often take the easy route despite ample natural foods being available – even in urban areas.
Although it might seem harmless and cute to feed a squirrel on a park bench or ducks at the local pond, these activities can lead to increased habituation.
Listen to BC SPCA chief scientific officer, Dr. Sara Dubois, on the unseen impacts of wildlife feeding on an episode of Defender Radio by The Fur-Bearers:"

This will sound terrible to some people but there are times when a cull is necessary.

(I grew up in rural Quebec so I know not to feed wildlife and also when culls are necessary.)
