This seems to have flown under the radar, or maybe I just missed it.

Gangbangers up to their old tricks again. All the while Trudeau bans "assault style" weapons and politicians discuss a gun ban. Which means taking away guns from legal owners who aren't the problem.

TORONTO -- An innocent 12-year-old boy out shopping with his mother is now fighting for his life after being struck by a bullet in the city’s Jane and Finch neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon.

Just before 2:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to the area of Jane Street and Stong Court for several reports of multiple gunshots heard.

Speaking at the scene a couple hours later, interim police Chief James Ramer told reporters at least 30 shell casings had been located thus far.

“It’s just a brazen shooting,” he said. “It’s just a callous disregard. The boy was with his mother, he had just been shopping in the area.”

“It’s just disgraceful.”

When officers arrived at the scene they located the 12-year-old boy on the west side of Jane Street and immediately began conducting life-saving measures. The boy was then transported to a trauma centre in downtown Toronto by responding paramedics where he remains in critical condition.

According to Ramer, the boy was struck by gunfire as two occupants of one vehicle got out and began chasing another vehicle in a nearby parking lot, opening fire.

“We had five people in one vehicle that was being shot at and the two males, they got back in their vehicle and fled northbound on Jane Street,” he said.

The vehicle that was being shot at fled to Driftwood Avenue, according to Ramer. There, three male victims collapsed and were later found by emergency officials.

Toronto paramedics confirm the three victims found on Driftwood Avenue are all teenagers. One is in a trauma centre in life-threatening condition and the other two are in local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ramer said this shooting has “all the hallmarks” to being gang-related.

“That’s what we’re prepared to address,” he said.

Shortly after gunfire rang out, investigators said two vehicles fled the area “at a high rate of speed.”

There was this shooting downtown as well. Thankfully no innocent pedestrians were injured.

Was a description of the suspects given? Did it include race?
That would be racist. They're just disadvantaged, racialized youths. Besides, as long as the shootings are done at Jane and Finch, no one gives a shit- least of all the BLM. If they did a drive by in front of Tory's condo, maybe something would be done, although I doubt it. The woke elites are so impotent these days they make a castrated dog look virile.

A description was given and the shooter was black.

The community now is now calling for the police to do something.

Does this mean they're ok with ending the defund the police movement, and reinstate "stop and card" for high risk areas? - asking for a friend

I thought the idea was to hire more social workers and psychologists?

Maybe have them patrol the mean streets of T.O.

Sounds like a solution to me........

The police asking the community to also "do something". It takes two or more to solve this problem.

Remember the community meetings back in the 90s? I lived across from York U a long time ago and one day a volunteer cop[or whatever they call them] came to my door doing some safety service and I asked him- I heard gunshots, last night. Is that normal/what happened? And he told me. oh, this is just the neighborhood. Don't worry about it and just get used to it. The gangsters usually don't bother the "civilians". Lives were always cheap along Jane.

This happens so often because Liberals like to slap criminals on the wrists and then set them free to terrorize society again. Liberals have so much sympathy for criminals, but do criminals have any sympathy for their victims?

Whatever...
That's the attitude that causes our problems to perpetuate. Keep covering up and ignoring the problems, keep censoring people who tell the uncomfortable truth and things will never improve and keep getting worse and worse.

I would have given it more respect if you didn’t make it political.

Sorry, I am just pissed because I see problems perpetuating and never get fixed because feelings is more important. Can't hurt people's feelings.
There is some sort of sense that conservatives are tough on crime and liberals are soft...not always the case.

I’m sure even the softest liberal would condemn this behaviour, it was an outrageous incident.

I see a lot of people complaining about our Canadian justice system being too soft, too. But how come nobody is doing anything about it? Do they have the attitude of: "Oh, it will never happen to me. I will never be a victim of crimes."

I think we need to have more sensible people to be in power. But that's gonna be hard since anyone is allowed to vote, like people with sjw degrees, people who listen to the media, people who listen to Lebron James. Something needs to be done about the voting system. Can't just let anybody vote.

Just curious, who do you mean by nobody?

It seems Governments like to do things like ban "assault style" weapons and talk about gun bans rather than get tough on people who possess and commit crimes with illegal weapons. I understand harsh sentences aren't a deterrent but these criminals can't do more harm when they're incarcerated. And many are repeat offenders.
