Iphone for Telus

I got a Telus account (normal cell phone account) and I was thinking of upgrading....


Unfortunately Telus only seems to sell Blackberries and I would actually like to get an Iphone (seems cooler, more fun and has better games) without leaving Telus (locked into a three year deal and have a number that I have had forever and would like to keep)....


Is it possible to get an Iphone for Telus? Do you have to get a modified Iphone? Has anybody done it?

Iphones only work on GSM Networks at the moment. They are not CDMA ready but you never know what the future holds with cellular networks.

The comparable for Telus is the HTC Touch Diamond, personally I like it better but I'm a fan of the HTC's and I use my phone more for data and not games and graphics.

I'm with Telus, and have the Samsung Instinct, I have the $25 package with 100 weekday daytime minutes(I'm at work so I don't need the minutes), after 6 evenings and weekends are unlimited. They also gave me the $15 text, internet surf, caller ID, voicemail package for free.

The last 3 yr segment they gave me VM and caller ID free for the first 2 years, and this time they gave me it for the whole 3. I just went into their store got onto their phone(direct line), and said I've been with you for 8 years, what can you do for me. Actually funny that the attendant in the store told me "don't take no for an answer", but I didn't even have to threaten to change to another company.

I kept my Iphone on an International calling and data plan (AT&T DataConnect North America & AT&T Canada)

It's cheaper than going through Rogers...
