I forgot that Apple uses iMessage between iPhones so that text messages all go through their own servers. Going back to android next device.

The problem I am having is…. I got a series of messages this morning from a co-worker before I had even woken up. The first message is time stamped. The following ones are not. Does anybody know how to make iMessage time stamp. I cannot find a setting for it.

Swipe The screen right to left while holding to view times.

and you can turn iMessage off so all texts are standard texts.

Settings> Messages> turn of iMessage

Um, you mean right to left? And, you have to hold it to see the time stamps. 😀
Thanks for this tip, I didn’t know about it even after almost five years with iPhones.

Something to consider is that, unlike straight SMS/Text messages, Apple encrypts iMessage from end to end. It cannot be decrypted by Apple, even if a Warrant is provided.

However, one flaw in this system is that iMessages can be read within your iCloud account if you backup your iMessages to iCloud. That can be read within iCloud if Apple is obligated by Warrant or Court Order.

.

Unlike Google (who designed and maintains the Android system) Apple is BIG on data privacy. They do not sniff or snoop in your iCloud email or iMessages. In fact, they designed these systems to lock themselves out of being able to unlock your data so that they cannot be forced to unlock and disclose personal data.

Android, , Gmail, Facebook and GOOGLE'S etc 's PRIMARY business model of offering "free" mobile Operating Systems (Android), Gmail, Google Docs etc etc is sniffing and snooping on YOUR data to create agglomerated profiles of YOU to sell to advertisers.

Did you know that you can pay third party entities to agglomerate and report back to you almost everything tied to you through your emails, messages, Whats App, contacts (your network of who you know and who knows you, including escorts) , what websites you visit, what you search for.... everything!

FFS, as if Bill Gates doesn't already know everything about me from my 4 Covid microchip implants!

Apple's iOS is child's play compared to the complexity of Android.

Android is more adaptable and customizable to your desired setup than Apple's iOS but it is far more complex to figure out these more arcane settings. Android is great for those who are phone enthusiasts or like to tinker or if you need more specific configurations for more specialized uses that so-called 'Power Users' find useful.

Apple's iOS is delivered as more of a user friendly system that meets the needs of the average person who uses their phone more of a utensil. Having said that, I am starting to grow weary of all the new features in each iOS release. But, IMO it still beats Android for the average person's usability.

to me it's just a flawed system. honestly an upgrade of the ios software causes the freak out of iphone users cause imessage can be asked to reactivate again . i just find ppl get butthurt about a coloring system for messages.
when we say you need to update YOU NEED TO UPDATE if applicable for the device otherwise can't properly TS the issues as well you do have to wait 24-48hrs at times for activation not 1 min
