Serge Ibaka is scheduled to return at Atlanta on Saturday, while Lowry is to be re-evaluated tomorrow. If not for their injuries, I wonder how long it would have taken for Terrence Davis, Chris Boucher and Hollis-Jefferson to showcase their capabilities.
Before Chuck Swersky left Toronto (his wife couldn't get a job) he talked about how difficult it is to hire a quality GM. So true, the Raptors have The Giant of Africa, the Leafs have a pastry chef. I hope They Raps find room for Chocolate Thunder once Serge returns.

Whoever said Terrence Davis is a garbage player can come over to my house and wash my ass. On second thought, Oz is back on HBO:Canada, I'll do it myself. Had no idea Katheryn Winnick was on the show.

Darryl Dawkins is dead.

Brendan Shanahan is a pastry chef?

It was always his dream to be the play by play guy for the Bulls, and the opportunity came up so he jumped on it. Even when he was broadcasting for the Bears, it was well known he wanted to do the Bulls.

My recollection says you are partially correct, he was having family problems, including a daughter with health problems that his wife thought would be more easily cared for in Chicago as there was family to help out. There are various stories that include he went there(Chicago) to try and save his marriage. At the time he was having family issues, and Chicago contacted the Raps requesting permission to talk to Chuck and offer him the Bulls radio job. As you say it was something he always had wanted to do so he took it because it also fit as an opportunity to unite his family. It is believed he took a substantial cut in pay by going to Chicago.
As I said this is my recollection and if someone(Costanza) wants to correct this, please feel free!

Thank you for that, didn't know why The Swersk left, never mind George, he can be killjoy sometimes.

Well that would be a lot harder for the public to find out. The way it was portrayed in the media was he finally got his dream job doing play by play for the Bulls.

It was understood Chuck had a family pull to move back to Chicago ( various scenarios as Dawg noted) and it wasn't necessarily a desired professionals Hal move but required for himself personally. Chuck was good.

Halfway through this 10 game package and its 4-1. Philly will be a benchmark tomorrow with the Heat the other test in the next 5. Bit of a stinker last night defensively in the first half yet hanging on for a dub at least shows this group is on the right side of effort. Light at end of tunnel with Serge back, Lowry and Mccaw within the week and then a chance for the group to work together and aim for the Celts on Xmas day! Raps on Xmas day, how did that happen?!? Let's go (your NBA Champions) Raptors!

Last night was kind of a weird game. The Raps were never out of it and I always thought they would end up with the W. Near the 10 minute mark of the 4th they had what looked to be a comfortable lead but never got that Nut Crusher and allowed the Hawks to make it interesting. Think they took the Hawks lightly and it friggin near cost them.
It will be interesting to see how the minutes are distributed as the injured return to active duty. Think Nurse will have to go more than 8 deep most nights to keeps everyone happy. Granted they have to perform when out there.

I expected a little less defensively vs Atlanta because there is a "big boy" game on Monday vs Philli. Lets go Rap!!!!!

Defense yes. Offense Marc Gasol is a serious liability. Can't make even make simple jump shots.
Marc Gasol a liability? Did you see what he did tonight, gritty win by the Raps and Embid was colder than a nun in Taktoyaktuk.

Where's TheWalker? Has his girl broken his heart? Is she dating Rondae Hustle-Jefferson, can't blame her really, he's a tall drink of water.

Great comeback win tonight. Defense really buckled down in the final few minutes.

awesome win, 76ers were favored. guys dug deep and pulled it out. Gasol held Imbede scoreless for the first time in 76er's young career. Gasol did a lot of things well last night but he still needs to put more points on the board. It appears he may have lost confidence in his shooting ability. Hollis-Jefferson can play, looks like an excellent pick up!

Marc Gasol is a savvy veteran, he'll figure it out. OG could be the NBA's Most Imporved Player for 2020, but I noticed a quirk in his game. When he has an open look at a 3 pointer, and hesitates, he misses. When he trusts his ability and just shoots, nothing but net.

i was at the game last night. could you tell on TV how venomous the stadium got when Terrence Davis got called on the phantom 3 point shot on Richardson. It got crazy. Raps fans stepped up, and Richardson missed all 3 I think.

Richardson went 2-5 from the free throw line.
He missed those 3 (~8 minutes left, 4th Q).

Number one draft pick Ben Simmons and number 3 draft pick, zero points Joel Embiid are not championship caliber players. Masai would never have them on the Raptors even if he didnt have to pay them. Contrast those two with the guts, determination and execution of undrafted VanVleet and 27th pick Siakam.

Ben Simmons threw the game away at the end. Down one, he left his feet (a no-no) for a lob pass to Tobias Harris that was easily picked off by Siakam. After VanVleet drilled two free throws for a three-point lead, the ball ended in the hands of Simmons with 5 seconds left. Instead of making a pass to better shooters, he heaved a wild no-hope shot that went nowhere.

This Simmons is the same guy recently featured on "Detail by Kobe Bryant" after posting a ho-hum triple double (including 10 points) against the Spurs recently. He is the most overrated NBA player by far.
Towards the end of the game last night one of the broadcast staff said that the 76ers no longer had a go to guy to take the final shot as they did not re-sign Butler or Reddick. That appears to be a real need they have in close games as you can't rely on Simmons and it was obvious that Gasol had Embiid's number. I can understand that Butler could be a problem but I have never heard anything negative about Reddick, so why wouldn't you try to re-sign him or did he just want out?
