Harbour 60 is a nice night out...pricey but nice and the steak is great. Ruth Chris is also good, but priceir. Personally Hys would be my choice.
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, lower floor of the Hilton on Richmond and Avenue. Perfect place to take your date before (or after) a rendezvous at one of the suites above.
Bonus: From the upper floors of the Hilton facing Queen, you get an amazing view of the Toronto Opera House as it is being built.

Please, go to Carmen's, Barberiens, Bigliardi's or Tom Jones. These places specialize in kewl old skool steak AND service. Steak prices are all similar but wine lists/prices vary considerably between each place.

Well, that's why I usually schedule a date after a visit to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. An inspired way to work off those extra calories.

I forgot about Tom Jones. Parents use to take me there annually for my birthday (opened in the year I was born). Only been there a couple of times in the past 10 years or so but the building is cool and the steaks were always great.

Harbour 60 is a restaurant not a steak place. Get the chicken or the Swordfish. The bimbette at the door will be happy to show you to your seat. Watch the posers eat!
Bardi's is old skool but they have become lazy and lost the will to serve as proper a establishment should.
Imports like Ruth's et al. will not get review from me as I am wonderfully satisfied and serviced by the denizens of Toronto's long standing tradition of excellent cuts of beef and unsurpassed service. It's not a trend, it's a lifestyle. There was excellent beef before, excellent beef now and there will be excellent beef when they are gone.
