When the mood and weather are right, some of the shops around Eglinton/Marlee/Oakwood fire up charcoal cookers out front. That can be a real treat. Raps is good for that, so is Spence's, almost next door.RAPS at Eglinton and Marley (just east of Oakwood)

A shop near me did that for a few days last summer. They told me they got shut down by bylaw officers. It might have been a licencing issue, since they are a food store, rather than a restaurant. Disappointing all the same. The neighbourhood could use some extra flavour on the street. When the mood and weather are right, some of the shops around Eglinton/Marlee/Oakwood fire up charcoal cookers out front.

I hope Albert is just branching out. He's opened up downtown before without closing the StClair shop.
Where is Alberts Real Jamaican Foods located on Queen Street ? I know that Pats Homestyle is at Queen St./Bathurst (used to be called Alberts until a couple of years ago it changed to Pats). So is this Alberts Real Jamaican that moved from St. Clair to Queen St. in the Queen West area and does anyone know the address ? I want to check it out. Thanks.RAPS at Eglinton and Marley (just east of Oakwood)

I go to above location quite often and it is good. However, no place tops the other franchise location which used to be right near the Yonge/Dundas corner on the north side on Dundas. They tore down the whole corner and it is now the ADIDAS store and the AMC multiplex cinemas. It was over 10 years ago when all the Ryerson students could get a full jerk chicken lunch special with a pop for $3.99 plus taxes. Honestly, the best tasting jerk chicken in all of Toronto! It was owned and operated by a Chinese man from Jamaica with a very thick Caribbean accent. Anyone else remember this dude? Really miss seeing an Asian man speak authentic Jamaican Patois (Creolese). LOLi would have to say Mr.Jerks on wellesley/sherbourne
Good jerk pork but everything else is lacking at best. The best one in the entire GTA is Mr Jerk on Derry Road in Mississauga near the Airport. I have been going there since 1995 and their food quality has been consistently good since then.

I remember the shop, I used to go there whenever I could. I prefered the Jerk pork over the chicken, I usually do.I go to above location quite often and it is good.
