It's his wife....Except he looked a little pissed, and the nanny (assumption) looked horrified.
Would have been really charming if he'd grabbed the little guy and put him on his knee.
+1, his reaction was to push the kid away, wow, would like to think most people would react differently. If that was his wife she sure seemed to be acting like a nanny.Except he looked a little pissed, and the nanny (assumption) looked horrified.

Thanks for the clarification Chloë. I had assumed as much. It's his wife....
What's unfortunate and sad are the amount of people who've assumed the very same thing simply because she isn't white. He's a known South Korean expert who even lives there.
My assumption had nothing to do with her not being white, it was the subservient way she entered the room with her head down. It's his wife....

Didn't notice the "subservient way of entering the room", maybe camera shy.it was the subservient way she entered the room with her head down.

I didn't say it was. I said many other people via social media are assuming that simply due to her race.My assumption had nothing to do with her not being white, it was the subservient way she entered the room with her head down.
Of course she was. He was skyping an international news network watched by millions. I'd duck too. She knew the ramifications of what was going on. He had to try and remain serious and professional. It's his job.I think she was ducking to try to stay low out of the shot, which she couldn't do anyway.
The kids made him even more famous now.He was skyping an international news network watched by millions.

It's his job. If this happened here while a news anchor was discussing the impeachment of our PM or the US president, I think people would understand the stoic demeanour. The president got impeached. That was the main topic of discussion when this happened.
Stoic is a perfect word to describe the demeanour of BBC new anchors. I watch it live stream for hours on end and they rarely get excited or emotional about anything.
I spit out my tea when I saw this last night. :rofl:The kids made him even more famous now.
Speaking of kids. This 4 year old girl got blown away by the wind.

That was the best part of it. She's hilarious! Makes me laugh every time I see it (it's everywhere). The whole family made a planned TV appearance to-day.
Did anybody noticed how that little girl walked with a bit of a swagger?
He was really cold to his kid.Except he looked a little pissed, and the nanny (assumption) looked horrified.
Would have been really charming if he'd grabbed the little guy and put him on his knee.
