the hobby needs more capitalism
Nook is better as you can share books and it doesn't have a physical keyboard to take up valuable space like Kindle does. It's only available in the US (for now).

B&N is using a 3.5" touchscreen instead of a keyboard on the Nook. That touchscreen cannot be used to extend the display of the main screen.

Since B&N is not explicitly mentioning the measurements of the main screen, I suspect its either equal or slightly larger than the Kindle's.

I'm want one for my daughter for Xmas as she is an avid reader and I'm a geek with a love for toys. I like the ease of purchasing eBooks that Amazon provides as well as the selection. Seeing as you won't be able to purchase books in Canada with the Nook I'm leaning toward the Kindle... or maybe just a gift certificate to Chapters. :(

And this just in... the PDF reader in the Kindle doesn't support Zoom which is apparently a problem for a lot of PDF books.
