King Dome Karaoke

Perhaps somebody can help me with this. I used to take dates to King Dome Karaoke at 398 Steeles Ave. W (north side of Steeles, east of Bathurst) because they had lots of individual fiberglass "huts." For $20 we could rent these huts/rooms for an hour and sing as many songs as we wanted (or anything else) in complete privacy. However, King Dome has been closed for some time now and it doesn't look as if it's going to reopen. Does anyone know of a similar place in Toronto? This place was Korean, and Vietnamese girls have told me this kind of setup is fairly common in Vietnam as well.

It's not really the karaoke that I was looking for; as you said, Toronto has hundreds of those. I'm looking for a place which has soundproof private rooms where you can lock the door for complete privacy. But thanks for the links, I'll try searching through them.

I see that what I'm looking for is a "karaoke box." I'll check out Twister at Yonge & Finch as it's the closest for me.

Yes, there are a couple at that corner, on the west side of Yonge ( north of taht new shoppers ), south of Finch. Korean, Chinese, Spanish , English and Russian songs. You get your own room but I don't think you can lock the door though.

Not important as long as there's the little window where we can watch.:D

Soundproof rooms are a good thing!

I like to teach the world to sing in happy harmony...

Do the doors of the rooms at Twister have windows? That would really defeat the purpose!

I went to Twister and they did have windows in the doors  Also, the staff would occasionally come in unannounced to collect empty bottles or simply to ask if everything was alright.

So, now the question is: Does anyone know of a karaoke box without windows in the doors, and where nobody walks in unless you've called for them?

King Dome was such a place.
