I just wanted to take the time to express how impressed and gratified I am with the whole operation there.
I live in Barrie and work in north TO. I have no family doctor due to a huge shortage of new docs and the fact that the existing ones take no new patients.
I like to have a physical every year, and also like to be screened each year (minimum) for STD's. Its just smart and if you hobby, I believe a necessity.
So where do you go? A walk-in clinic? The hospital?
All you hear about are long waits and how people are misusing our emergency rooms. Questions, follow-ups and poor doctoring abound.
Enter the Hassle-Free Clinic. They will see ANYONE - Health Card or not!
If you need a STD screen, an HIV test (anonymous even!), counselling or advice, they are there for you. They are knowledgable and very forthright with their recommendations.
You'll still need to wait 30 mins or so, but they are worth it. They talk to you, advise the best practices for you to be using and press for the need of personal responsibility with regard to perevention. All without judgement.
I was impressed and even came home and made a donation to them so they can keep serving our needs. They have an awesome website at www.hasslefreeclinic.org. Check it out and keep them in mind. A great service that is sorely needed!
