Guess what, if you go to the beer store and buy 2 sixpacks of beer they'll charge you for a 12 but if you buy the same in the liquor store they charge you for 2 6's.

What bullshit!!!!!

Gee, last time I was at the beer store and picked up 2 six packs they charged me for 2 six packs..... But if I asked for 12 and they didnt have it they would give me 2 six packs for the price of 12.
Thats my point, they didnt have a 12 so they should charge 12 price for 2 sixes.

LCBO vs the Beer Store

The LCBO is run by the Ontario Government while the Beer Store is run by the brewery and licensed by the Ontario Government. The difference in policy is that the Beer Store employees are not provincially accountable, but the LCBO is. This is why it is taking so long to get "corner wine and sprite " stores in Ontario. The Provincal government doesn't want to lose its biggest revenue maker.

Maybe I'm the only one but I actually don't want to see beer and wine in corner stores. Yes, it would be far more convenient when I just HAVE to have that extra six pack on a moment's notice but the reality is that most corner stores have shown that they can't be trusted when it comes to selling cigarettes to minors so, given the potential for profits, I can't believe that they could be trusted with beer and wine.

I'm actually more in favour of going the other way and moving tobacco sales to LCBO and beer stores only.
