Ahem....couldn't resist passing along to our friends on the right the thoughts of a fine true Patriot Michael Moore on the 2006 election .......;)

Letter From Michael

November 8th, 2006

Friends,

You did it! We did it! The impossible has happened: A majority of Americans have soundly and forcefully removed Bush's party from control of the House of Representatives. And, sometime today perhaps, we may learn that the same miracle has happened in the Senate. Whatever the outcome, the American people have made two things crystal clear: End this war, and stop Mr. Bush from doing any more damage to this country we love. That is what this election was about. Nothing else. Just that. And it's a message that has sent shock waves throughout Washington -- and a note of hope around this troubled world.

Now the real work begins. Unless we stay on top of these Democrats to do the right thing, they will do what they've always done: Screw it up. Big Time. They helped Bush start this war, and now they should make amends.

But let's take a day to rejoice and revel in a rare victory for our side -- the side that doesn't believe in unprovoked invasions of other countries. This is your day, my friends. You have worked hard for it. I can't tell you how proud I am to count all of you as part of the greater American mainstream we now occupy. Thank you for all the time you gave this week to get out the vote. Some of you have been at this since the large demonstrations of February 2003 when we tried to stop the war before it started. Only 10-20% of the country agreed with us at that time. Remember how lonely that was? Some people were even booed! Now, 60% of the country agrees with our position. They are us and we are them. What a nice, strange, hopeful feeling.

A woman, for the first time in our history, will be Speaker of the House. The attempt to ban all abortion in the conservative state of South Dakota was defeated. Laws to raise the minimum wage were passed. Democrats were elected to fill Tom DeLay's and Mark Foley's seats. Detroit's John Conyers, Jr. is going to be the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. The Democratic governor of Michigan beat the CEO from Amway. The little township next to where I live in Michigan voted Democratic for the first time since... ever. And on and on and on. The good news will continue throughout today. Let's enjoy it. Savor it. And use it to get Congress to finally listen to the majority.

If you want to do one thing today, send an email or a letter to both of your senators and your member of Congress and tell them, in no uncertain terms, what this election means: End the war -- and don't let George W. Bush get away with any more of his bright ideas.

Congratulations, again! Now let's go find a spine for the Dems to do the job we've sent them there to do.

Yours in victory (for once!),

Michael Moore

Why the hell didn't the Americans do that in the 2004 election especially after seeing Farenheit 9/11?

Now it gets through to them???

Because michael moore is a moron.

Don't mistake the change in political power to be an acceptance of people like moore. Moderates on both side of the aisle seem to be the call to arms.

I don't think I will follow your advice on this one. MM is likely a moron, but I think the voters decided that the neocons are greater morons.
Michael Moore is by far the greater moron, but unlike the neocons, his name wasn't on the ballot.

I am not sure how to determine the size of moronity. In any event, MM is harmless, because he is unelectable. The other morons got themselves elected.

Because those "close" elections of 2004, went the way of the Dems in 2006. MT (+1700), VA (+7500), MO (+40,000) and quite a few House races including Hall (D) in New York (which was a real good decision), Foley's (R) loss in FL by 4000, two (2) in CT (although Shays (R) pulled out a win.....another pig), and a bundle in PN, including the good riddance of that pig Santorum (R) massive loss to Casey (D) in the Senate. A few nasty hardliners also lost in the House.

I pushed that Santorum loss call for 2 years.

I think, if we look back at Fahrenheit 911, we will find that Moore was pretty much right on about Bush and the war in Iraq. And, with some upcoming Congressional investigations, we will find out just how right Moore was.

The real morons are those who got us into Iraq in the first place by twisting the facts to their agenda.

We can put in this category: Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Feith, Perle, Wolfowitz, Ledeen, Kristol, the entire AEI, etc etc. If this were a different world, the PNAC group of neocons would be shunned and never given the opportunity to spread their evil doctrines again. THOSE are the real morons.

I have posted this comment before, but it's worth repeating: even movie critic Peter Howell in the left-leaning Toronto Star slagged Fahrenheit 9/11 as nothing more than propaganda, saying the movie was as bad as Reefer Madness.

And he was right.

Fahrenheit 9/11 was much better than Reefer Madness.

Rush Limbaugh, on the other hand, is nothing more than propaganda and far worse than Reefer Madness, or more correctly OxyContin Madness.......

Interesting that MM was almost completely out of sight during this election and the Ds had a different result..... wonder if there is any causality there.

I never saw either movie, but chiming in with this: someone gave me michael moore's book (forget the title), read 5 pages and thought i was in a grade 10 english class on reading assignment. I was beyond terrible. Secondly, I think the famous 7 minutes Bush sat in the elementary class cast him forever in a certain way (probably a very accurate way) as being completely indecisive. Agree/disagree? Correct me if i'm wrong, but would this image have been circulated if not for MM? So, I think he got the harpoon in.. deep.

Perhaps, although Moore has also criticized Bush for moving too quickly in his decision to go after bin Laden.

Apart from his many other problems (such as lying), Moore has some consistency issues.

John HEINZ karry is a typical example of a bleeding heart dem. He has 57 varieties of message, each tailored to the audience he is speaking to.

Consider yourself corrected, of course the media would circulate it.

Of course the media would circulate it over and over. Those seven minutes, of Dubya sitting in that elementary school, looking all 'dazed & confused' like a deer in the headlights, after being told of the WTC attacks were priceless!

This was probably one of the reasons that recently prompted Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, leader of al-Qaida to openly mock Dubya calling him a coward!
Abu Hamza al-Muhajir summed up Dubya by saying:
Bush was "the most stupid president" in U.S. history.

Well, possibly. Harding beats him in my opinion, and then there are also a few dummy Presidents in the 1800's we don't really appreciate. The point is, the US can't get away with incompetent leadership anymore, as it once could.

True!
That's why DICK is really pulling all Dubya's strings, as Dubya plays the role of puppet/foil.......;)
