I would love to curl up in bed with that midsection.

The most amazing thing is that it took 28 years for Lanni to break Sylvia Ruegger's record, and by only 36 seconds. With all the emphasis and improvements in nutrition, training etc. over the years, it make Sylvia's Canadian record which stood for almost 30 years even more impressive.

I have the utmost respect for anyone that participates in marathons regardless if they break records or not.

With all due respect given to Ms. Marchant, I was made aware of a more amazing story from this weekends marathon.

Ten months ago, Dina Pestonji feared she would never walk again after suffering a severe stroke. On Sunday, she ran 21 kilometres, completing the half-marathon.

That, in and of itself could be considered a miracle by most.

If she's putting in 150+km of running per week, her abs better look that good!

What's really interesting and a bit sadly ironic is that two women actually beat Sylvia Ruegger's record in that race. Marchant beat the old record by 36 seconds, but her teammate, Krista Duchene, came in right behind her and also beat it -- by 4 seconds. What an accomplishment for Duchene to beat the old record. Too bad, a higher record was set 32 seconds before that...

Got a shot of Krista near the end of the race. Strong runner.
