Tokyo is extremely interesting, because Japan's population as a whole is shrinking.
I remember reading something awhile back that as individual countries and the world in general eventually moves to a shrinking population, paradoxically their biggest cities will get bigger as people flee dying small towns with no services and nothing to do.
