Did anyone here have any luck today getting Leaf tickets through the box? I tried while at work but didn't get through in time; both games went on sale at 10am but were (obviously) sold-out well before noon.

I've called several ticket 'brokers', but the going rate is now at least $200-250 for a single green or purple seat. Robbery.

Basic economics....Supply and demand my friend. Supply and demand.

And $200 isn't bad for Playoff tickets. It is only 2.5x the face value.

My Reds (for corporate use at work of course) cost $155 each during the reglar season. Face value for Round 1 jumps to $240. By the time you hit Round 4 (Stanley Cup Finals) face value is $540 per.

As much as I enjoy the game, and as much as I love my Leafs, I must admit I have trouble justifying the cost when there are so many worthy causes out there that could use support. But, from a business perspective we're expected to have seats for client entertainment so we fork over the $$$. It's sad really, but it is the reality I live in.

...Actually, confirmed playoff ticket prices at ACC started as low as $40-45 through Ticketmaster.

For a decent seat in the greens, I can understand the scalper price - but still charging $200 for a lousy purple seat with a face value of $45 seems ridiculous to me, at least for an early first-round game.

That said, as long as people are willing to pay those prices, then by all means the brokers can charge whatever the market will bear.

Lets hope they make it far enough to make the scalper prices tempting.
