This is awesome news way to go Cliff. Kubina will be next, he's been
rumored to be traded to San Jose.

It's been a long time coming for this and finally someone is getting it.
Getting rid of all the older and overpaid players is the best thing to do. They
need to start next year with players 24-25 yrs old and under and be shit
for 3 or 4 seasons and RE-FUCKING-BUILD.

Tucker is absolute garbage 5 on 5. He isn't a very good special teams player, and he is not getting any younger....I never really liked Tucker, not too saddened by this departure at all.

Tucker played hard before he signed the big contract, and presumably it was due to the accumulation of injuries he suffered through the years when he gave his best to the Leafs. I believe that's the reason (believing his injuries will continue to affect his plays) the Leafs mgt cut him loose and I'd say that's a good decision.

Guys like Tucker, Wendel, Lindros and Neely who played physically night after night for several years, could see their careers go bad rapidly when the injuries started to take toll.

Leaf fans, let's show some class and respect now by not dumping on the guy now that he's no longer part of the team.

You ought to be banned just for saying that.

Tucker played well for Quinn, not so for Maurice. Never do we mention Tucker as part of a category that includes Wendel, Neely and Lindros.

Hey Cliff while your at it, get ride of those two bums
Steen and Stajan.

Stajan career high 16G LMAO and has never scored more than
39PTS in a season.

Steen had tons of PP time this year and scored 18G and is another
low point getter. Career high 45PTS Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!

Send them down or maybe trade them for a Six Pack of Zima
and a bag of pucks.

Questions :

1) Quote : "banned'; from what ? from the Leafs Nation ? I'm a Leaf fan but
I always thought this "Leafs Nation" thing sounded stupid anyway, so if
you are the Head of this Nation, by all means;

2) Quote "never do WE", who are "we" ? who are you representing? as I
know, I've never been one of "you"; and this is probably where I'd
separate myself from fans like you who'd jump on and off the bandwagons
of teams and/or players depending on the last game they play and nothing
else really matters;

3)you are entitled to your opinion, and I'm to mine; as far as I'm concerned,
Tucker played his heart out and was as impactful as any other Leaf in
those years the Leafs were kicking the butts of Ottawa, and he was often
regarded as the "heart & soul" of the Leafs then; I bashed him before for
his poor performance the last 2 years, but he also deserves some credit
for his previous contribution.

Someone please explain. If they buy Tucker out, and pay him while he sits at home, if he signs with another team as an UFA after July 1st, do the Leafs still have to pay him the remainder of his contract?

Even if your ex-wife remarries, you get off the hook for alimony.

Would the new team have to compensate the Leafs in any way? Money, a player, draft pick, etc?

I thought these players had some pride.....the Leafs are saying to the whole world "this guys sucks so much, and is so disruptive to the dressing room, we don't want him anywhere near our team".

Before any of you get all all revved up thinking I was comparing Tucker's career accomplishment to those other 3, please read my post again, I was only referring to how physically they played and how their injuries seemed to have cut short of their careers.

Is my writng skill that bad ? or your guys just can't read ?

The Centre of the Universe!
Tucker isn't even close to being in the same class as Lindros or Neely! Clark barely makes the grade, based mainly on the fact he scored some big goals for the leafs and he was always ready to drop the gloves, regardless of who the opponent was.

Best that can be said about Tucker is that he was a poor man's version of Kenny "The Rat" Linseman. Linseman's career numbers are far superior to Tucker's, despite almost the same number of games played.

Clearly though, only Lindros and Neely had their career numbers significantly impacted by injury.

Regular Season Stats
GP G A PTS PIM

Eric Lindros 801 372 493 865 1398
Cam Neely 726 395 299 694 1241

Wendel Clark 793 330 234 564 1690

Ken Linseman 860 256 551 807 1727
Darcy Tucker 830 197 238 435 1296

And most of those points are at the beginning of the season, when a lot of players are still not in form. A six pack of Zima and a bag of pucks may be too much.....Maybe 2 large balls of wadded up hockey tape and a bag of pucks (not new pucks either, just the old ones with all the notches and divots in them).

I apologize if my "writing style" caused you to have trouble reading.

Hope it's not permanent.
I have no problem reading. You might want you look closer at the way you write when everyone else see the same thing...

I could care less what/how you write but you asked a question. I answered it.

way out in left field
For all you guys who live on stats, in the end I'd rather have a team of tucker's than a team of Crosbys or Malkin's.

The thing is: players like those will go up and down like a yoyo, just look at Malkin's play towards the end of the season? He was playing like a junior B player at best.

Tucker bled for the leafs and had NO trouble do whatever it took to bring the team up, out, and gave it his best shot for just about every game he played.

With Belak, Tucker and Domi gone, they've lost all their muscle and no matter what the game has turned into, hockey IS about muscle....if it wasn't Pittsburgh would have won the cup.......
