Is Reimers injury more serious then first expected. I have no faith in the Monster or Scrivens. Burke is denying that he is after Turco. But the Leafs need a goalie really bad, and really fast.

Wasn't it like 18 months ago everyone was saying that Gustafsson was the answer? I remember here on this board all the "monster" talk and now he's what? Yesterday's dog food? Pathetic.

Wasn't some Leaf fan here trading Gusty + Komisarek for Nash just a few weeks ago.

Actually, nobody said he was the answer. He was touted as the best European goalie not in the NHL, which isn't necessarily a ringing endorsement. He had potential and was worth having a look-see but not more than that (for people with some reading comprehension skills).

Nice try. How are the Tourette meds going for you? Looks like you may need to up the dosage a bit. I haven't given up hope for you yet.

I will continue despite your usual stupidity.

I recall several members taking me to task for saying Gustafsson wasn't any good. To them he was the "monster" and after drinking Pierre Maguire's Kool Aid simply wouldn't let me off the hook in the matter.

Now where are they?

Typical Leaf fans.

Keep watching the trade wire.
It is going to happen .... Columbus will trade one of their big salary players. Might be Nash, might not, it may be a steal or it could be an even trade.
The Columbus own will order to lighten the load if they do not start winning some games.

As to the rumour, you learn to understand when someone is just having fun.

Oh-oh is that considered taking you on ?
Then 'wooooooo' on me.
'Do I want to take you on ?' I am still chuckling over that one.

Rest assured it will not be Komisarek's contract that will be taken on by any team trying to cut salary. And the guy tried to justify it, so no it was not just somebody having fun.

And he simply represented the demented portion of Leafs fans, such as yourself. Not the reasonable ones.

lol yeah OK.
You are such a suck.

Yes, I cannot understand why Tampa will not trade Stamkos to Toronto for Bozak and Gustavsson and a 2016 third rounder. It would be an even trade, it will take years of debate to decide which team won that trade.
Nashville should trade Weber to the Leafs for two second rounders.

Curious as to why Lungo's name hasn't been mentioned ...
Luongo, really ? Since we are talking about a goalie to fill in on the Leafs I can think of five point three million reasons why he would not be a good fit, that and the fact he has a bad game almost as often as the rookie, Scrivens.
I do not want Louie in Toronto, at least not as a home team goalie. I do not think you will find many Leaf fans supporting a Luongo to the Leafs move.
Bobby Loo is not the answer here.

Turco, or someone else Burke can get cheaply is a much better fit.

Now if you want to talk a Canucks goalie and his initials are Cory Schneider, well then we have something to talk about.

Burke was on Fan morning show and did not mince words: he said they have no interest whatsoever in Turco, and said something to the effect of "zero, zilch, nada" in trying to stress the chances that Turco will become a Maple Leaf.

Here's the interview: http://www.fan590.com/media.jsp?content=20111116_090625_15360

As for bigger name goaltenders, I believe the Sabres would love to move Ryan Miller. Wilson coached Miller at the olympics, where Burke of course was GM of the USA squad. Could that be a possibility? Miller hasn't played all that great so his value is pretty low right now, I imagine. Still young. Big contract, though. I haven't heard this anywhere, just throwing that out myself to see what y'all think of that idea.

@ $6.250 mil. Even though it would be reduced for this season(games already played), there are two seasons where the Leafs take the full weight of the contract.

Take a chance ? If he bounces back, great ! If does not, Leafs are stuck with another underachieving big ticket.
Add to the fact that they help a division foe by giving them room to maneuver cap wise, a team the Leafs may be battling for a playoff spot.

anyone who thinks changing goalies will solve leafs problems should get back watching timbit hockey (not that it isn't fun). but seriously? have you seen leafs defense lately?

I have never watched TimBits hockey.

However, that said, I know the Leafs need a true number one center, plus another top four forward and a GOALIE !
So acquiring a goalie may not solve all the Leafs problems, but it plug one hole, sort of speak.

Funny, I think the defence is starting to come around, not that it was the biggest concern this season at anytime.

A far bigger concern is secondary scoring.

Thanks for playing though Richie.

No...thank you. Leafs play horrendous defense. This team can't rely on Kessel & Lupul only. I do have faith on the leafs as they've proven they can comeback from a deficit (unlike before). But there are moments in the game that they get caught napping (deer in headlights?) you can't avoid the WTF question in your head.

Leafs have one goalie on the IR with a concussion now and they would trade for another with the same problems????

The players keep changing and a new set defenseman are shipped in every summer but it's the same old problem ... Is it goaltending , or the team defense that this coach is coaching ... Cause the defenseman we bring in are successful in their previous destination ...
OMG are you suggesting Wilson MIGHT be the problem?

Obviously he would have to pass physicals. I'm suggesting in terms of players they would have to part with to get him, it be a low risk deal as I don't imagine the Sabres would get much for him the way he's been playing and with his contract.

Ryan Miller Limited NTC
Roberto Luongo NTC

NTC = No Trade Contract, that means a team cannot trade that player without his approval.
Why would either Miller or Luongo waive that provision in their deal to come to Toronto?
