Funny how quiet Mr. Pansey always seems to be when the Sens lose.
A couple of days ago he was all hyped up when Muckler made that totally overrated deal for Bondra. (just what the Sens need.............a 36 year old Euro candyass. Who's next..........Jonas Hoglund? LOL)
Bondra's got 36 points in 55 games and he's -17. Great move there Muckler. This guy just doesn't seem to understand what his team really needs.
They still don't have any balls..........and they still don't have any heart.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Now they have Rob Ray and Todd Simpson.
hahahaha. Too funny.
John Muckler learned everything he knows from Glen Sather. That was his first mistake. hehehe

Craven.

Jim's promised to turn over a new leaf, pardon the pun. I'd like to ask all Leaf fans to lay off of him in light of that.

NOW! Bondra being -17 is probably a result of him playing for the Capitals...

Does the -17 include last mights game? He scored in his first game with the Sens, but i think he was on for a couple in the third.

Goober, maybe you should change the thread title so Jim isn't taunted every time a post is made.

Kathleen
I was hoping that our analysis had more relevance than that crap. :)

Zhamnov's definitely no JR or Primeau. I think the flyers will start to fade soon.

Let's just say I'm wearing a red jersey in practise for a while. No boarding or cross-checking. Otherwise things might get ugly again .... hehehe.

Glad to see that things have calmed down. Hopefully we can keep the debate going while still being respectful of others.

I am reminded of that line from Justin Trudeau's eulogy to his father " Never attack the individual. One can be in total disagreement with someone without denigrating him as a consequence."

Interesting Craven but Sather won 5 cups in the post expansion era .. the Leafs??? - 0! So please teach Muckler something. I am sure he is in need of your wisdom.

And this talk of grit is alot of bs. Yes you need some but its not everything. With all this grit the Leafs posses Craven, how many Stanley Cup APPEARANCES do the LAUGHS have in the post expansion era?

........

That's right folks that was the sound of a pin dropping.

I saw this in another thread too. Jim was told to knock things off, and some Leaf fans have taken full reign to slamming him now.
Instead of posting every single game.. Yes, Ottawa will have some ugly ones, Toronto will have some ugly ones. But unless a big trade - Bondra, or a big incident in a game - Naslund, can we lay off bugging Jim, and analysing every game like a panel on Sports Net?

In regards to Bondra, he is gritty, and a true sniper. Ottawa's version of Mats. I think it's a fine addition. No matter what, It can't hurt, only adds depth, and there is no harm in trying. Philly on the other hand, they have a serious hole now.

Kathleen
Kathleen - you are one classy and objective lady. True hockey spirit and remember - GO SENS GO!! :)

Well he sure needs somebody's wisdom now that he doesn't have the late great (and very knowledgeable) Roger Neilson at his disposal. And to attribute the Oilers success in the 80's to Glen Sather's coaching is completely ludicrous. All he ever did was look down the bench and say " Okay boys..........Gretz's line is up next............followed by Messier Kurri and Anderson, etc. etc.
And the last time I looked the Sens actually have zero Stanley Cups in the post expansion era just like the Leafs. Your point?

Oh........I see n_v............it's all about 'APPEARANCES' is it?
Ask the Buffalo Bills how successful they feel about all of their Super Bowl 'APPEARANCES'. LOL

No need to run Goober. That was actually quite funny.
Re: Mr. Pansey.
I wasn't aware that he was told to straighten out, but based on his previous behaviour the jury's still out on this guy. We'll see if he can cease being obnoxious just for the sake of being obnoxious.
Time will tell.

Bondra gritty?!?
I believe that's called an oxymoron Kathleen.

ox-y-mor-on: a rhetorical figure in which incongruous and contradictory terms are combined.

I know you claim to be a Leafs fan Kathleen so I am going to be gentle. LOL
But referring to Bondra as "Ottawa's version of Mats?"
My God girl.................that is sacrilege.
That's like comparing Daniel Alfredsson to Guy Lafleur. (never..........repeat.........never do this in a bar on St. Catherines St.)
To prevent further statements such as this may I suggest opening a window next time you use the nail polish remover. LOL

Yup, Gretzky, Messier, Coffee, Kurri, Anderson and a couple of pretty good goalies among others, all in their prime ... could make any coach look good.

Craven.
The LA Lakers had Kobe and Shaq for a few years (among others) and couldn't win squat until Phil Jackson arrived, the Detroit Red Wings with Yzerman and Federov couldn't win a Cup without Bowman. While yes the Oilers talent of the 80's was impressive you still need a coach to bring it all together. If the Bill's won 4 SB's instead of losing them then you would be saying well look at the talent they had'. But Levy couldn't do it, maybe another coach with the same players could have.

But your initial critism is Muckler. I would think that he had more of an impact on the Oilers than Slats. He does have more than enough hockey knowledge. I know the objective is to win it all, but in order to win the big prize you must, Craven, APPEAR in it!!

And my point that the LAUGHS have zero Cups in the expansion era is that they had some 25 years more than the Sens to win Lord Stanley's Cup and have failed. Add to that is an infinate amount of finances more than 90% of the league and absolutely deplorable drafting in the past 25-30 years. So if I were you I wouldn't be cutting up the Sens when an argument, and a very compelling one, can be made that the LAUGHS franchise as a whole has grossly under acheived.

I'm a diehard Leaf fan. What bugs me most? The fact that it seems that each time we can acquire some really great talent, management drops the ball. I remain optimistic, but each year I just feel like shitting my pants.
I think this lockout is going to happen, I just don't know for how long. When play resumes, I think the teams are going to have to reconstruct on every level, ground up.Let's trade for now, JF and PQ. Let's get that one good deal that can put us over the top!
I see other teams that look stronger on paper trading, why not us? JUST DO IT!

P.S. I always hated Jims raving, and I responded only by correcting mistakes he would make in his critiques or statistical analyses. When asked to tone it down, he did. I think that makes him a good sportman of sorts. Lets all try to emulate his resolve and not degenerate here.
We all love hockey, and its the rivalrys that make it fun.

GO LEAFS GO! (My ex-father-in-law is a Habs fan, and I have been unrelenting over the past 5 years in my abuse. He truly hates me!) I'll be calling him tonight!
