After being around all the horrible dancers on the tyipical dance floor, where can one learn to dance? I don't want to pay a whole lot and would love to get some tips online first. Just tired of watching the rare few good dancers in awe, while repeating the same few steps over and over.

Drink alcohol and adopt a "I don't give a damn" attitude.

In every club you'll fit in. If you ever watch EC you'll notice no one ever moves their legs.

I already do that and was hoping to learn how to actually dance (no specific styles, just something versatlile that looks reasonable... a few handful of nice moves).

Seriously, learn one or two patent moves that work for you, and do it in 4 different directions. First thing I learned when I became an entertainer....thanks to Maxine Bentley. It totally looks different if you are in the audience watching. Things they won't teach you at Arthur Murray's.

Some years back I was at a friend's wedding. A hot lady asked me to dance a waltz with her. She was hot, I was horny. I danced. Or rather I tried to dance. Made a fool of myself and lost the girl.

Determined to never repeat that particular mistake, I got back home from the wedding wanting to learn at least the basics of dance. By happenstance I got a flyer from Soles Dance Studio in the mail. I called and signed up.

Nicole (who's pretty hot herself) taught me the basics - waltz, cha cha etc. She's primarily a salsa dancer so she got me into that. I got hooked and ended up taking a whole bunch of lessons and meeting some nice people along the way.

I'm one of these people who thought that learning how to dance would be kinda corny, but discovered that it was actually a lot of fun. I highly recommend Soles as a place to learn. Nicole & Mark run some great group lessons (mostly for Salsa) that are well worth the effort of going to.
