The draft lottery is tonight. I am PRAYING the Raptors get a top 3 pick, then at least SOMETHING decent will come out of this season. Damn it, I invest alot of emotional time into this team and I will be severely pissed if we land lower than 3rd pick. Is this franchise doomed?

James is doomed to live up to the hype that the media has built up surrounding him. The number of players who have failed to live up to the Jordan legacy is a mile long. Heck, guys like Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill, Deshawn Stevenson, and Harold Miner haven't even accomplished anything close to what Julius Erving did in his career. James will be no different.

I agree...

...with Big Papa. MJ was/is ONE OF A KIND. It's difficult to say what separates MJ from all the rest. MJ is more about the DESIRE to be the VERY BEST, no matter what. Drive, ambition, focus, leadership, consistency, excellence are just some of the many admirable qualities that MJ possesses. The others/"heirs" are more about HYPE.

It's silly to think there will never be another MJ...every sport has its legends, and nothing can diminish MJ's impact on the sport, but eventually there will be another superstar who has talent and class...the class is what's lacking these days in the NBA - I think there are some reasons for it but that's for another thread...the question is A. Will Lebron be able to excel in the NBA just because of his skill as a high schooler, and B. Even if he is a superstar will he show the class, dedication, and professionalism that MJ did? Well, MJ went to college and I just don't know if a kid from high school who has been told nothing but how great he is will have the humility and maturity to not end up an A-Hole...Remember, MJ had to fight and struggle to reach the top - Lebron James was given a pass to cut to the front of the line.

Boycott Nike...

Excuse me can I go vomit now. All these big $$ endorsments is exactly why I boycott Nike and other companies that pay such huge mega $$ to sports stars etc. I'm refuse to pay $120. for a $10. pair of shoes just so Nike can afford to pay all these endorsments.
