I know Leno had a lot of cars, but for GM to declare bankruptcy on Conan's very first day in the Tonight Show role seems a bit much.

It took Leno a while to settle in after Carson; how long before Conan really feels comfortable in the role? And will there be a reprise of Hugh Grant's career-changing moment?

I'm looking forward to it.

What I hope doesn't happen, is that Conan tones down his skits to try and be more "family-friendly" like Jay was (most of the time).

Although, I must say, Leno had the ability to be both soccer-mom-ish and funny at the same time.

I would be perfectly happy if it's just Late Night With Conan O'Brien an hour earlier.

I couldn't stand the Andy Richter skits in the earlier years of Conan, though.

I don't think I have watched more than a total of 2 hrs of Conan, Leno or Letterman over the last 25 years. What a fucking bore. Same fucking jokes (names are changed), same fucking guests (different movies to promote), and the same sets. I can't stand any of them. Now Kimmell, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Fallon and more to follow. What a bore. Seems anyone can do it.

It'll be interesting because Conan's audience is very different from Leno's. Conan going head to head with Letterman is a different ball game.

On a related note, I wonder if Jimmy Fallon's show is going to survive. He's better now than when he started but he still doesn't "have it". There is no "magic" or chemistry on that show of any kind.

I thought Fallon was just absolutely god awful on Saturday Night Live. Totally unfunny and lame. The news part of SNL improved by about 2,000% after he left it.
The guy who writes "Family Guy" , Seth MacFarlane, did a great spoof on his show re. how lame Jimmy Fallon was. Couldn't find it on youtube though.

I couldn't agree more. He's never been funny. This is why I was baffled that he was chosen to host his own show.

Is it just me or anyone else find these shows just infomercials for actors/musicians etc to plug their latest movie/album or whatever they are trying to push. I find it absolutely hilarious watching a re run of a celebrity pushing their work as a masterpiece that has already been released and it was a complete disaster or bombed badly at the box office.

It should be called "the Jimmy Buffoon show". Fuck he's terrible.

I'm a big Conan fan, can't wait to see the show later.

Wasn't Conehead one of the characters in Beavis & Butthead?

Conehead will completely kill and finish off the Tonight Show.

Leno was better than Conehead but that ain't saying much....
