what surprises me is with all the obstruction and construction, there was only one car honk (around 6:30 mark). Unlike other metropolitan cities London drivers seem very patient. Curious though, why are the lines on the road squiggly?
Which is funny because I found the people to quite impatient and rude on my trips. It is sad because it such a beautiful city. I could wear out a camera life's easy taking pictures there, but I will fly there again or through heathrow airport for that matter if I can help it.
Now Scotland on the other hand - Edinburgh - I would move there in a nano second.
The bendy lines mark the approaches to a pedestrian crossing. Pedestrians aren't to cross the squiggly lines, and cars are not to park on them in order to preserve sight lines to the crossing.
I've been to London a few times. Great city. You have to put up with the British though.
I grin and bear the local differences when I go somewhere, realizing they will see warts about Toronto and Canadians that we overlook due to familiarity.
Given a choice though, I'd take London over NY in a heartbeat. I could easily transplant to London, but would hate NY.
London is an amazing city, I'd move there as well if I could. I found the British to be incredibly friendly, especially once they found out I'm Canadian. Only bad things are that it's expensive & taking the tube at rush hour gives you the experience of being a sardine.
