Does the speed at which the time is going by scare you. I can't believe I'm close to 50. I still think of myself as …..around 37 and still recall (what seem like a few years ago) of people referring to me as one of the younger guys on the crew. That was before I got promoted and moved up the ladder.

I can recall days back when I was in my twenties that the days seemed to go on forever. I was bored with the job, my life, and the minutes seemed to last for hours. I'd check my watch and then go back to work and then intentionally not look at the time for what I thought was 1/2 hour and then be drawn back to the watch and realize that it had only been five minutes.

Now the minutes are like seconds and the days and weeks go by far too fast. Hell, it’s only a little over a month until Christmas.

I look back at things I did 20 or 25 years ago, that seem like yesterday. If the next twenty years goes by as fast, I'll be close to 70. Don't get me wrong, its not that I wake up in a cold sweat at 2:00am, but are the rest of you a little concerned at the velocity at which life is passing us by.

Its frightening how fast the time goes when you're having fun……...

My advice is: Don't give your time away. I gave 20 years to a large corporation. Bigger mistake than my marriages.:eek:

The older you get, the faster time seems to pass.

Why, I have no idea but I hear that when I was young and looking back its so right.

But 50 is still OK, yeah I know 40 is better and 30 is great but try to, eat right, don't smoke, etc and you still have 30 more years left :( Doesn't seem like much but then when you were 10, 30 years seem like forever.

It is not really that time goes faster. It is the realization that there is damn little left of it,
and that you have wasted most of what you once had.

My son had a birthday last week. We were sitting watching a hockey game and he said to me "Man, this year went by SO fast"

He just turned 6

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

I don't look that I "wasted" my time...sure looking back maybe you would have done things diff. but if you still were having fun, seeing people, thats not "wasting time" thats living.

Somebody who did something dumb, like drive drunk and was in jail for 10+ years for causing a death, "wasted" some of their time but going to work, living your life, thats not "wasting your time"...it just be nice if we lived 150-200 years :p thats all.

The best thing is not to worry about it. That will come with time anyways.....
I myself have don't mind being the age I am....read carefully, you'll figure it out.
When I was in my teens I liked girls in their teens....
In my twentys I liked girls in their teens and ones in their twentys..
In my thirtys I liked girls in their teens, twentys and ones in their thirtys;;
Around 40 I had to drop most teens { don't get me wrong though.. there are some 19s that blow my mind...}
BUT... now I liked girls in their teens, twentys, thirtys and girls in their fortys.
past fifty and counting and the good thing is!!!!!!!!!!!
"I FUCK girls in their ANY-AGE"
Teens-Twentys-Thirtys-Fortys-Fifthys and " GULP" I nearly got them all covered, Finally I have arrived----I FUCK anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess I am screwed up...in my teens I like girls in their teens and twenty's, same in my 20's and 30's...now in my 40's and still the same...19 is still teens...but thats the youngest I go...

I sometimes worry what will happen to me later on in life...will a women in her 30's ever look BETTER than a women in her 20's to me :confused:

Well they claim I look no more than 35 so most of the time the ladies are cool with me but this summer when I told 1 lady who is 21 my real age--mid 40's she got this ugly look on her face and said "for the next hour, I am going to pretend you are 35"...I thought afterwards I should just say I am 35 till nobody believes me anymore...

Hey, when I hit 35 I stopped having birthdays. 35 is a good age to stay at permanently - old enough to be mature, yet young enough to still have fun. :)

I saw a just turned 20 girl I know (as just a neighborhood aquaintance) out with her new b/f who I thought was about 43. I thought 'Good for him - an inspiration to all of us'. Talked to her later that week, what's up with you, etc., she said "I have a new boyfriend, but my parents don't like him because he's a lot older." I say, well, hey, age isn't everything if he's young at heart...how old is he? She says "27". Hmmm...OK...some guys look 43 when they're only 27, and some of us look 35 when we're older than that. I'm glad I'm in the later group.

Life as they say is shot when compared to eternity. We come into this world screaming and naked. From that day on may race to death. Others race to cling to life. While other live life.........You must determine which person you are. Ask your self will you lasting legacy be stone and concrete or will it be in the people you have touched?

Boys boys... I'm 52 & I've had my share of ups & downs. I've been so low I'm surprised I survived it. I've been blessed with successes and cursed by my failures. I look in the mirror and sometimes wonder who that guy is looking back at me with all those wringles. I smoke too much, drink too much, eat rich foods and hobby with young women. My boat does 65mph, my sportscar is a convertible, I travel alot and just started a new career. Fuck guys, I'm still a young pup and refuse to give in. Live it up and don't fret the small shit!!!
Introspection is a product of the ME generation............It is not what you see that counts but rather what others see.

Truer words never spoken Joe, I like your thinking.

Who knows, the average life expectancy has increased by decades from our grandparents era. Living to 100 or 120 (and not being bedridden or fighting Alzeimers) might be just around the corner.

time flies only because you have a wonderful life! For some people living in shit or distress, one day is like one year.

I actually said this to my co-workers in the lunchroom and they all objected against it. They said they don't want to live THAT long :)

I wouldn't mind. Give me another 100 years ontop of that. As long as I keep looking good.
