Linksys wireless card

I just installed a linksys wireless WPC300N card in my laptop, question is, often ,when it says I'm conected , I can't load any web pages, when I am conected, the laptop freezes ,it never freezes when I'm on a wired conection ,,, I'm wondering if the card is defective? Should I try to reload the driver software?
I 99.9% rule out the router as a friend has used my wireless connection often with no problems.

check your AV and see if you have it set to wireless.


Aslo under network setting set up a new connection for wireless.

might also want to check if the manufacturer has updated drivers on it's web site
