Little Tyke dies because of lack of Resue Facililties

A 7 year old boy died last night in NOTL because the Canadian Coast Guard in Niagara Region had taken their boat out of the water for the season!!!! and the US Coast Guard based in NF NY their boat was broken!!!

NOTL Fire Department had to contact St Catharines FD for a boat but were too late to save the lad. The NOTL Fire Chief was pissed as you can imagine.

Makes you wonder why though if your community is on the water like NOTL WHY doesn't the NOTL FD have their OWN Rescue boat??

The child died because he did something dumb not because the government didn't save him.

Indeed, a 7 year old that ends up in the frezing water for several minutes, let alone god knows how long has little chance - no matter what boats are involved. It sounds like it was a while before anyone knew he was missing. SO sad, but unless you got him out in a few minutes, the poor guy was probably a gonner no matter what. Brutally sad tho.
