Locking Old Threads

No big deal, but why do people post new comments in threads that have been quiet for months or years? I've noticed threads often get revived after a long time dormant, and it's a little confusing.

What do you guys think of a policy whereby Terb would lock threads after a certain time has passed? If that can be done without extra work on behalf of the Mods, I think it would be a good idea...

Why?

It doesn't make sense. Some threads are great and get brought back. Peopleeenjoy them. The long lost posters thread is a great example.

I know that HB does it for there reviews after 30 days and I think it is stupid. People read it and want to comment and can't.

Stops the flow of posting.

Old threads are nice history and sometimes worth updating with current info. If they bother you so, don't read them...
