I had an interesting experience at a retirement seminar.
It is impossible to read women they are an enigma on to themselves. Men that claim to have that capacity are clueless and cocky...unless you're Cycleguy. By no means do I consider myself attractive to women, I'm bald and I have a face only Rodney Dangerfield could love. To my credit I'm reasonably tall and I have a flat stomach that I work at diligently.
I sat down in one of the armchairs provided and read my pamphlets. As I did so a fit elegant South European lady walks by on her way to the bar - naturally I noticed. Quickly assessing the moment I noticed that there was no place for her to sit, so I vacated my armchair and ressumed my reading in the lobby. She sat in the armchair I vacated. After a while as she was chatting on her cell phone, she got up walked toward me then turned around and walked back to her chair. She gave a very good look at all of her - to my approval. Shortly after that her friend showed up; she had South American looks and was dressed just as elegantly.
As we entered the conference room they took their seats across from me. As the seminar proceed the financial planner fielded many questions. After a while he said to me, "you're very quiet, do you have any questions"? I replied that I was there to observe, listen and learn. When the seminar drew to a close the girls left at the same time I did. In the lobby I tested the waters with small-talk, then I told them that I was going to Wendel's for a drink and if they would care to join me.
